Having Dress Buyer's Remorse!

Having Dress Buyer's Remorse!

Not sure if any of you have been through this, but I'm starting to have a little bit of an itch that I'm unsure about the wedding dress I purchased!

Not sure what to do- ordered it so long ago and it's due in at the store in May. Just not sure if it was the look I really wanted and due to my small addiction to Bridal Magazines, keep coming across other dresses that I love!

I have pics in my album if you want to give me your honest opinions, but have any of you ever reordered a dress? Would a salon ever be accomodating to that without having to pay for 2 different gowns?

Wish I was more ecstatic..

I know that a lot of girls (myself included) on this site have had the same feelings. It's a big decision so that is probably why we all second guess.

Best advice I can offer to you is to remember that there is a reason why you chose the dress you did and try not to look around anymore.
I think most of the brides on this site will agree with me when I say that the more you look at dresses the more you will continue to doubt your decision.

It's totally normal tho. I went through it for a little bit too and now I cant wait for my dress to come in

I think myself and the majority of the girls have this feeling I have had second and third thoughts on my dress but once it came in the store and I tried it on again I fell in love all over again

That is why I completely stopped looking at bridal magazines.. I was sooo afraid I would find something better. I had to reassure myself a couple of times so I went to the bridal shop where I got my dress and tried it on again.. I felt comfortable and very pleased and knew it was definetly the right choice for me! If you are feeling unsure go to the Bridal Salon and try on your dress... Good luck!

i feel this way sometimes too - i hope once my dress comes in (june or july) and i try it on in the right size, with the right slip, and i can see the changes i made to the neckline i will love it.....i get nervous a lot and see so many gorgeous dresses that i fall in love with and wish i tried on.......i think almost all of us do this to ourselves!

Awwww thank you. I just took a look at yours (I didnt at first b/c like I told you, it makes me second guess ) . Your dress is beautiful!!!!!! I think once you put YOUR actual dress on with the changes you made to personalize it you will realize how much you really love it. I ordered mine in a different color and put a little scoop in my neckline too so I am REALLY looking forward to it coming in b/c then it will really feel like MY dress.

nooooo your dress is gorgeous. I love alvina valenta.

I tried on two dresses, and picked one and totally changed it. then i saw pics of myself in the other one, and freaked that that one looked better. I actually called to see if it was ordered yet. But then i remembered how i felt in that dress vs. the other dress, and i stuck with my original choice. there's a reason you picked that dress! don't doubt it - it's gorgeous.

Re: Having Dress Buyer's Remorse!

i had remorse too.. but it was me lookng at a picture of the dress on me and i just kept hating it more and more...

but it wasnt until i went and tried on another dress that i really knew that the first one wasnt for me.

dont look at pictures of other dresses and seond guess yours... you have to trythem on.. pictures dont mean they will look good on you.

do you have pictures of the original dress on you? how do you feel about it when you see yourself in it? that is what counts

then if you arent happy then go try on others and find something better for you and something that iwll make you happy. it is your day you ahve to be happy with your dress

I think that would be a good thing to start! I'm sure you will look amazing on your wedding day

I am the remorse queen, so I feel your pain! i have had 2 different dresses and am going in on Sunday to talk to them about chaning my third one! I just it isn't the one and not because I keep looking just because the whole process was a pressure thing for me.....but if I were you I would go try it on again and see how you feel! Talk to the people at the salon, let them know how you feel. FM if you want to talk!

JMO, but I love your dress and think it loks great on you. And there are probably a hundred others that would look good on you, too. How did you feel about this one when you bought it? If you loved it when you made the purcase, trust your gut!

Your dress is stunning! I think once it is altered and your try it on again you will have no more doubts. I worry about this too that is why I never look at dresses anymore.

I had the same problem, but I went to the store and tried on the dress again. and I love everything about my dress. maybe thats what you should do. eventhe shop told me brides do it all the time and its very normal especially when it gets closer to the wedding. everyone wants to look their best. If I had the body I would love a dress like yours.
Its a very pretty dress. you made a good choice.

Thanks all- really appreciate the support and it's so nice to know I'm not alone....wow- love all the responses you get when you just step away from the computer for a few hours!

Had a nightmare last night about all kinds of crazy stuff going wrong with the wedding...but none of those issues were the dress. Maybe it's a sign- haha!

Thanks again!

i AM GOING THRU THE SAME THING BUT i THINK IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER HAVING MY MOM BUY MY GOWN FOR 1100 SHE WILL FLIP AND I WILL HAV ETO PAY FOR IT AND I HTINK SHE WILL BE UPSET.. I AM ACTUALLY going to possibly have something extra added on to the dress becues i htink its a shame to have a dress go to waste and i will wait till i see it when it comes in may!

Re: Having Dress Buyer's Remorse!

the problem is that you have to order so far in advance and then you have to wait months for the dress to come in - it give you months to agonize over the decision....im hoping i love my dress when it comes in, i made a change to neckline that im nervous about!

Re: Having Dress Buyer's Remorse!

I bought two dresses and Im so glad I did. I bought one of the first dresses I tried on. There was one I saw in a bridal magazine that I never tried on and kept thinking about. I passed by RK Bridal in the city cause I was in the area and tried it on just to get it out of my system. It ended up being the one. If you feel like you you need to try on more dresses, I say do it.
