i invited 200 guests thinking that some would say no and i've only gotten 2 no's so far and one was from a single person so it's not even a couple..my father is going to have a heart attack when he hears how many are coming. i just don't know where this money is going to come from..do you think the longer people wait to respond, the better chance it is that they aren't going to come???

First thing is try to relax! Getting stressed is not going to do you any good. Longer people wait to respond doesn't mean they aren't going to come IMO. Unfortunately people take there sweet time to respond. They figure they have time. Sorry, you are feeling bad. Hope everything works out.

Don't worry. The no's will come! People take their time in rsvp'ing, so definitely wait it out!

Re: having heart palpitations
i am worried about the same thing you are... we need to pretty much stick to our number of 150, too many and we will not be able to afford it, but if we invite too little we are afraid we'll end up having a really small wedding. i know just how you feel. the important thing is to calm down. if u do end up going over your number then you will find some way to pay for it, you can try to negotiate with the hall for a less price per person. and look on the bright side...it means you have lots of people who love you and want to share in your wedding !!!

Yea, there is plenty of time because although a lot of people definitely do wait until the last minute to respond, there are a lot of other reasons people wait: trying to find a babysitter making travel arrangements saving up the money seeing if they need to take time off of work etc. etc. I would think the no's come later on but that JMO!

Yup - this is exactly what I was going to say. We just got married a month ago, so I can still feel the heart palpitations I had every time we opened up the first few responses . . . and then after awhile, we got the no's. We ended up getting more no's than we thought - which was great for me, since I thought there were too many people invited in the first place. It will be fine. Try not to worry about things too much until you have to - you'll have plenty of problems that DO arise that will cause worries. It'll be fine!!

How many responses have you received so far? They say 20% are no's. You have to figure the two no's to how many yes's? I am sure most of the no's come later anyway. Don't worry.
