Having My Brother Walk Me Down the Aisle

Hi. So here is the deal. I want my older brother to walk me down the isle. My dad died a few years ago and we weren't that close when he was here. My mom is single. So, who should walk her down the aisle? Should my brother walk her and then come back for me. Someone suggested that but would it look weird? Any thoughts/suggestions?

You could have an uncle, cousin or close family friend do it. It's really up to you and your mother.

Your brother can walk her down and then go back for you. It wouldn't look weird at all, I've seen it done plenty of times!!

How about having both your brother and your mother walk you down the aisle ?

In the jewish tradition, both parents walk the bride and the groom down the aisle ?

Your brother can always walk your mom down, then go around the side of the church to walk you down the aisle. What a beautiful thing.

My brother walked down with my mother and then walked down again with the bridal party!
I think that it would be so nice to have your brother walk you down the isle!

It wouldnt be weird at all! You always see a groomsmen walk the MOB down the aisle and then return if hes part of the BP too. If that is who you want then go fo it!

I never agree when people say something will look 'weird', I say you do whatever you think would be special or most meaningful to you/your mom.
I don't think having him come back for you is weird at all, I think it's a great idea

If it helps my father passed away about 10 years ago and my mom is still single so, I'm having both of them walk me down the aisle.

how about mom on one arm and brother on the other? i thought about this also cause my dad passed about 4 years ago ..

i think ive decided to have my mom walk me though

Excellent tips! Thank you. I am so excited about having my brother walk me. I think I will either have them both walk me or have my brother walk my mom and then come back for me. I think that would make my mom happy and it will certainly make me happy

I am going to have my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. I saw it done in photos and it was touching. i am not wearing a blusher so doesn't need to be lifted. My dad and I are much closer than my mom and I, but my mom tries to be there for me in between stints of us butting heads. She's been working so hard on my 'secret' shower and I think she'd like the gesture. She is the one who dragged me and my bro everywhere and sacrificed so much, and my dad is always the listening ear, so they both should give me away.

Have your mom and bro do it.

i think i would have both, but if you wanted it wouldn't look weird at all if your brother walked your mom down the aisle first and then came back for you. Good Luck!

I would have an uncle or close relative/family friend - walk my mom down & my brother walk me down (just my opinon) - I dont think it would look wierd if he walked back and forth - whatever makes you happy - it is your day! Let us know what you decide!

This is exactly what I am doing...

My brother will walk my mother down, go around and then come and get me...

It won't look weird.
