Having My Ring Insured Today!!

FH & I have an appointment after work to have my ring insured!

I'm so excited because I'm so nervous wearing it!

I finally insured mine on Monday; it's such a relief to know it's covered.

Where are you getting your ring insured? I heard that you have to go through home owner insurance? Don't own a house as of yet so I'm curious.

you can get it insured thru any insurance company. I'm adding mine thru my home owners ins (allstate) because it ended up being cheaper than getting a plan thru my car ins company (statefarm)

I have my ring insured through Jewelers Mutual (you can find them online)... I have renter's insurance through another insurance company and the JM policy was much much less expensive than an add-on to the renter's insurance. I know a lot of girls on here are insured through them as well.

I'm also using Jeweler's Mutual. The premium was great.

I am going to State Farm.
I got a quote for fill coverage for $96 per year.
But it goes by how much your ring was apraised for.
I don't have home owners or renters insurance.
It is just a policy for the ring.
Pretty sweet deal, I think.

Just be really careful with the fine print in your insurance.

One of my girlfriends that I graduated with lost the stone in her ring.

Insurance would not cover it because in the fine print it required 6-month 'checkups'. They needed to have documented that every 6 months you went to a jeweler to make sure the stone was not lose or any other problems they could see.

She had received the ring - brought it to a jeweler to be dipped 5 months later because it started turning from white to a duller yellowish color... he checked it then.. she lost the stone around her year anniversary.
Unfortunately it was 7 months since that check-up/dipping as opposed to 6. She had to replace the stone herself.

If you are renting you can get home insurance as well.. I dont own a home as yet but I have my apartment and ring insured through GEICO, since that's who we have our car insurance with

No I still live @ home. & we are going to move into the apartment in my house so we don't need renters insurance. So my ring has it's own policy hehe

FH got home insurance before he popped out the question... I was wondering why he got it when we're just renting and I figured it out after 2 weeks he proposed!!!! :)

we have the same situation.... we went with jewelers mutual bc it covered more! basically everything!!!!

The insurance policy that I got covers everything.. If i loose it down the drain, its corvered. Its called a personal articles policy. so i'm excited & relieved!
