Having problem with my limo company...they are going back on their word
When we booked them he said that we either have a choice of a free limo back home or a free limo to the airport . He used the word limo. When I called back to see how big the limo was so I can fit our parent in their too..he said it's not a limo, its a town car. I said I need the limo for parents...He said this is a courtesy for the bride and groom, not for them to get all these other people in the car with them. If I want a limo he said it will be $250 (then knocked it down to $125) I called my fiance and had him call the limo company and he said that if he used the word 'limo' he was mispoken and $125 is a great deal...rushed him off the phone in 3 minutes because he was busy and told my FI to call back in a week. I don't know what to do...I want to pull my $1000 deposit out of this company because this is not right. Should I insist on getting the limo for free or talk to the owner or see if I can get my deposit back? Sorry so long!

Defintely talk to the owner. What does your contract say?

My contract says nothing about the ride home...but our parentsare paying half of the limo but wanted a ride home. He admits that he said limo...but says that he didn't mean to...he meant town car.

why do I hear time and time again such BAD things about limo companies? it makes me want to rethink the whole transportation situation. if they are going to provide such a hassle, why should anyone pay $500-$2000 to get their butts shuttled around...
seriously, are there ANY GOOD COMPANIES?

I would talk to the owner unless you can get your money back at this point without a hassle. If you could get your money back with no problems then get it back. You already have had strained relations with this company.

I really don't think there are any good ones...I haven't been able to get a recommendation for a limo company from anyone!!

I hate when companies get 'shady'!!! I think the limos are the hardest part of the planning!!
Its hard to say - part of me wants to tell you to put your foot down and make a big deal but I don't know if that will just make the situation worse.
How long has it been since you have given them the deposit/booked them?
If you don't mind, would you fm me the name of the company? I'm looking at two companies tonight and have been worrying about booking limos for a while

I don't know who you're using, but I used Regency and they were horrible. If you search my name you'll see a long post I did a few months back. I just want to put out the reminder!
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Hopefully they fix it before your day. I'd ask for the manager!

Try Whitestar Limos, no gimmicks. What you see is what you get. Their drivers were awesome.
They are located in Bayside Queens. Let me know if you want the #

Um, maybe you should remind him that a verbal contract is binding in NY...especiall when he admits to it after the fact...
OK, so its a long shot, but I think maybe if you explain to him that your parents are paying for half of his bill & half of the driver's gratuity, then they really need to reconsider whether or not a LIMO will be available for you.
Also....a $1000 deposit???? really they need to acommodate you a bit better....JMHO.

i used ultimate class and when they offered the free townecar ride they wrote it in to my contract. i think that you really need to try and get everything in writing from people so many tend to get shady lol. i would insist on the limo because otherwise you wouldnt have used his company and it was false advertising and a verbal contract is binding in ny like hearzbellz said. if your not satisfied then get your full deposit back and use ultimate class
