Having problems deciding on where to go for HM!

Initially we were thinking of Aruba an all inclusive like the wyndham or maybe even staying at the Radisson. Then I did some more reasearch and am now wanting to go to The Royal hideaway in Mexico, which is AI also but would be during Hurricane season which is from June to Dec 1 I am hearing. We would be going late Nov to early Dec.

This other travel agent i spoke with today suggested the domenican republic, b/c she says I will get more for my money? I am not sure she why she is recommending the Domenican republic b/c I thought that it was not a good place for honey mooners to stay.

Well, I don't know which one to pick ladies.. can you help me decide once and for all?

I don't think the Dominican Republic is a good place to go on a honeymoon. Just my opinion.

At the end of the day, it's what fits you and your fiance's personalities.

yea I don't know why this certain TA suggested that. She is a little ditzy anyway, she's the TA my company uses and I just thought I would ask her to see what she could do, price wise.

I guess I better do more searches on Trip advisor for the Royal Hideaway in Mexico, but I am afraid of going during hurricane season!

Has anyone ever stayed at the Wyndham in Aruba? How is the food there?

What about Costa Rica? That's where I'm hoping to go. Everyone I know who has been there absolutely loves it!

I went to the Dominican Republic 2 yrs ago and it was wonderful!! I don't know what you are looking for, but if it is to sit on a beautiful beach and eat great food then you should be fine there.There was a ton of stuff to do at the resort, we were there for 10 days and never left. It's not really nice outside the resort because there is a lot of poverty, but that is the case on a lot of the islands you might be considering. We stayed at the Paradisus Punta Cana and for the money we spent I was blown away. We were as far from the beach as you could get with no upgrades and everything was still amazing. If you are looking to save money, don't overlook the DR!!!!

What about South America? Our winter is their SUmmer, you will have beautiful weather and its inexpensive. The Iguazu Falls in Argentina is supposed ot be beautiful.

I second that, Ive been to the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica and the DR was much much prettier and better run. CR is best for nature lovers, and adventurous couples that want to do alot. DR is better for kickin' back, relaxing and doing absolutely nothing but enjoying each others company!

Me three. We are going there for our HM. Best you can get for the money. Great beaches, etc. We are staying at the Iberostar (punta Cana). We had a lot of great recommendations from friends.

As a meteorologist, I must chime in. Hurricane season does go until Dec 1, but a hurricane to hit Mexico that late is so rare. And you can't go by this past hurricane season either because it was a doozy. There are charts you can find on the internet that tell you how often a hurricane hits one place during a certain time. I wish I had my notes with me, but it's easy to find.

Nov and December aren't as active as the other months, I wouldn't worry about it, if you wanna go to Aruba I say go for it!!!

I've heard that the DR is beautiful and can also be very private the weather is also supposed to be great there. But on the downside I heard the food is horrible and some of FH's friends got food poisoning (but I guess it depends on wher you stay). Mexico is amazing ...I love it there. FH and I had a vacation booked last Oct. and that's when hurricane Wilma hit so we had to cancel and we ended it booking Aruba instead. We stay at the Hyatt and were treated like royalty!!! In my opinion it's the best hotel in Aruba...I can't wait to got back!
