Having second thoughts about boudoir pics

Having second thoughts about boudoir pics

I am scheduled to have them done soon and am having second thoughts. Not because of embarassment, but because of utility. Do I really want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that will be tucked away? I'm obviously not interested in framing these pics and having them displayed in our home!

For those ladies that had them done, what did your FH do with them and where are the pics now? Is it worth the time and money? I just don't know.

i was thinking the same thing...that's why eventhough i'm running out of time i'm not sure if it's worth it or not...maybe for a 1 yr anniversary or something

A one year anniversary is a great idea! I was thinking maybe for his birthday... which is 1.5 months after our wedding. But still - they won't be displayed so is it worth it?

Don't forget men are very visual -- your FH will LOVE them. He'll get a special thrill out of you going out of your way to be super hot and sexy for him.

That being said, I'm not getting them done because i need to lose like 40 pounds first

yeah i was feeling the whole losing weight thing too...you see the pics of the girls and i'm like...yeah i looked like that, when i was 18

but i think the idea of doing it for yourself first and him second is a good way of justifying the cost

hmm... you could still get all dolled up and buy the hot lingerie... but wear one for your FH each night of your honeymoon.. he'd probably rather have the 'live version' and you'll have extra money for the honeymoon..

Re: Having second thoughts about boudoir pics

I was thinking the same thing as you before I did mine--heck I remember just mentioning the idea of the pics (my DH had no idea i was considering it) to my DH and he said 'Utter waste of money' I was so scared he'd see my pics and think they weren't worth it.

Trust me when I tell you---the reaction you will get from your guy alone, is worth a million bucks. My DH saw the pics and his jaw dropped to the floor....he was flabbergasted. He told me that he was so happy that I did them and he thought they were beyond sexy.

You don't have to justify spending the money in saying 'i won't frame these.' just letting your guy be able to look at them when he wants on the computer--or maybe making a little 5'x7' of like 2 or 3 of his favs and letting him put it on his nite stand....or even just a wallet size for him to carry when he wants to think of those pics.

My DH asked me to send like 6 pics to his cell phone and he alternates the wallpaper now on his phone with it. heck he asked me to make him a calendar too!!!

How did you give them to him? Did you give him actual prints? An album? I am also struggling with what to get. The photographer said the only that's included is the photoshoot and a CD with all my pics. I could just make me own album on picaboo.com or something. Not sure what to actually give my FH. And when did you present your FH with the pics?

do them!! you'll regret it more if you don't do it. i really wanted to do them, and was nervous, esp about shelling out so much $$ for them, but in the end it was so worth it. i gave DH an album, plus we have a CD with all the images mariann took. we don't look at the pics everyday, but i love that we have these beautiful images to look back on - as we get older. we also do plan on blowing up (to like 5x7) a few pics and putting them up (def the tame ones).

I used Fedali--and they put your images on a cd for you as well they make a DVD slideshow of like 25 images that you pic and a song of your choosing.

For his birthday i put the dvd in the player--and had it ready to go on pause with the first slide. i told him that i bought him a movie for his birthday and he just had to tune the tv to the dvd source channel. when he did--there was my first pic staring at him and he was like he hit play and enjoyed the show....then he ...um...enjoyed me.

if you use anyone else--i'm sure you could make your own DVD slideshow--its really not super hard. you just use a program and arrange the pics--use some effects and play it to music!

Good luck in your search!

just tell your FH that it was done by a female assistant.

its not like he can tell who took the pics.

i swear its very amazing to do the pics--you feel incredibly sexy and like a supermodel!

Re: Having second thoughts about boudoir pics

I was supposed to do them last month, but I cancelled a week or two before for a couple of reasons. One was that I had bad hives all over that had been lasting a few months and I didn't want to get them done if my skin wasn't looking great. The other reason was money - I was very tight at the time and couldn't really reason spending so much on it at the time.
I'd still like to do them, either right after the wedding and using it as a christmas gift, or as a one year anniversary gift. It will be much easier for me to spend the money after the wedding.

Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the pictures in front of a man, but it depends on how you feel about it.

Re: Having second thoughts about boudoir pics

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I have decided to keep my appointment for next week!

I will most likely make my own album since I don't want to shell out another $150-200 for that!
