Having some doubts about a vendor...
I keep reading negative things about burtons for flowers! I am starting to think maybe I should be looking somewhere else. I am so tired of shopping around for vendors, maybe I will stay with them. What do you ladies think?

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
May I ask where you keep reading negative things? My advice is this - being that they've been in business for so long, they must be doing something right! Think about why you booked them, and keep that in your mind. I am using them and am fully confident, being that I've seen pictures, and have some of my own for them. Good luck!!

I used them and they were great! If my photographer took any pictures of my gorgeous centerpieces I would show you, but that is another story!

I think if you are having doubts, go with you womans intuition, I didnt have a great feeling myself with them even though they were so highly recommended and i hate going from vendor to vendor but eveyrone always said hard work pays off.Good Luck.

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
I saw go with what you feel. I never follow who everyone else uses. I choose on what I like best and/or what I get the best prices on. I see some of the DJ's people use on this board and my god they are so expensive! I went with someone alot cheaper . I have compared through weddings I have been to and seen some of these DJ's perform and mine is just as good, if not better and he's a friend and not a vendor here. It's funny because I picked all my vendors before I ever knew of LIWeddings, except for Wild Rose Video I found through here.Go with whoever you like, not what everyone else does.
Good Luck and Happy Planning!

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
I have only read 2 negative posts on this board about Burtons. I called them myself and discussed what I read with them. They were great about it. I went in and met with them again to go over details and felt a ton better. You need to do what is best for you, but I call a vendor when I am unsure.

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
I just read the negative post about Burtons and now I am more concerned. I am NOT happy about this post but I also realize that sometimes there are miscommunications/understandings between vendors and brides. I want to hear what Burtons has to say about this myself. Also, after being on the boards for over a year I have realized that not every bride is going to be happy with their vendors and that what I want might not be the same as what she wanted. So maybe I would have loved the bouquets/music/food/dress etc.... Call your vendor, explain what is making you nervous, ask around. Then make a decision that you are comfortable with.

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
I have personally heard good and bad things about Burton's from friends and from this board. There have been a few times that there were negative posts about them but there have also been so very positive comments. My view is to visit as many vendors as you need to (and can find the time to in order to find one that you feel comfortable dealing with, are pleased with their past work, and can afford. When I've found my vendors I've felt good about using them (and I am hopeful that it will be that way after the big day too!
). Also, getting things in writing always helps. From what I've heard, the Burton's contract is not very detailed regarding flower selection. Maybe some other brides on this board who have used/will be using Burton's could help you there. Best of luck!

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
If you booked Burtons and was happy with them I would definately stay with them. Just remember that everyone has different opinions. I've read some negative things about some of my vendors and I am the least bit bothered by it.

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
If you have doubts, call them up. Explain to them that you have been hearing some negative things about them and that you want it on record that you have questioned their abilities.I think once you confront them, they will do everything possible to do the best they can.

Re: Having some doubts about a vendor...
I am using Burton's and have heard many positive things about them. Only a few here were unhappy, but I plan on showing them lots of pics and explaining in detail exactly what I want. Not every Bride is happy with every vendor. Flowers, photographer, vidoegrapher, whatever it may be not all brides are impressed with everyone's work while another bride is. If you feel that your not happy using them, then I suggest that you don't use them. Who knows if you will be satisfied with who ever you go with. I hope you are, but that's the chance us bride's have to take. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
