I just can't get them to go through the printer without jamming it! I'm thinking about using clear labels for the addresses. But what about the inner envelope? Has anyone used clear labels for the guests' names on the inner envelopes? I'm afraid it will look funny. Help!

Re: Having trouble printing my invitation envelopes
Grace, we might use clear labels for the outer envelopes and then I'll just hand write the inner envelopes as neat as I can. We're not sure yet. But don't worry about it, do whatever is easiest for you. I actually don't even want to bother putting names on the inner envelopes, too much work! Is it really necessary?

I didn't label the inner envelopes. They saw their names on the front, they know who they are!
One less thing to stress over! I say save yourself the aggrevation!

Re: Having trouble printing my invitation envelopes
I would leave the inner envelopes blank, but I think that if you are inviting a family with children, you are supposed to write the the parents names with kids names underneath on the inner envelope. I've heard that you are not supposed to write the kids names on the outer envelope. And I'm afraid that if I don't write the kids names somewhere, people will think that the kids are not invited, especially since kids were not invited to the engagement party. Uggh! I never realized how many rules there are to invitations!
Re: Having trouble printing my invitation envelopes
Does your envelope have a liner? If so, then it's probably too thick to go through the printer.
Does the printer curl the envelope when feeding through? Look in the back of the printer, there should be an option where you can manually feed the envelopes straight through the printer.

I fed each envelope alone...also make sure the envelope flat is really flat and you can even give the envelope a little push through...

Re: Having trouble printing my invitation envelopes
Thanks ladies! I finally figured it out! Yay! I ended up putting the envelopes through the printer sideways and gave them a little push so they didn't get stuck. It still took a while though b/c I had to switch the page layout to landscape view and then play around with the margins to get the addresses to look centered. That was a headache! But I'm really happy with how they turned out! Even the lined envelopes went through the printer!

How many envelopes did you mess up before you figured this out? Just want to know so I can determine how many extras we will need. FH says we should just get clear labels to avoid the headache.

I only messed up a few. I used the same one over and over until I got the address centered. Then I saved the page setup and just typed each address where the first one was on the page. I used a different color ink each time because the envelope started to get really cluttered. Once I got started, a few envelopes got wasted b/c they got jammed in the printer.

Re: Having trouble printing my invitation envelopes
It's so funny because I STRESS over anything I ever send out. I just did my eparty invitations and they had to be PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT. But then the day after I send them out I get an eparty invitation in the mail and barely look at it, lol! I have no idea what the address looked like on the envelope or whether it was handwritten or computer generated.
I think we stress ourselves out over these little details that no one else notices at all.
