Re: Hawaii
Hawaii is gorgeous! FH and I cruised there a few years ago, so I can't help you with resorts, BUT I would HIGHLY suggest Maui. It is the most beautiful island, there is lots of things to do, but it is still very romantic.

Re: Hawaii
Oahu - we are not staying at a 'resort' - we're only there for 4 nights and Oahu is the most commercial of the islands.
We are staying at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach (the HM will be the third time staying there so obviously we like it).
On Kauai- we are staying at the Grand Hyatt which is totally amazing. We stayed there last time we went and love it.
On Maui - we are staying at the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa. Again, we've stayed there before and love it. There's also a great Sheraton on Kaanapali Beach. Also the Four Seasons in Maui is awesome.
On the Big Island, I've stayed at the Four Seasons. It was years ago, but I'm sure it's still breathtaking.

Re: Hawaii
if you are staying in oahu, i would recommend the halekulani. its the nicest resort on the island but with the price tag to match.

Re: Hawaii
I loved where we stayed on Kauai....though it was more of a condo then a full service resort. The Hanalei colony resort.
For Maui I agree with the 4 seasons. I did not like the Grand.

Re: Hawaii
If you want to relax (but there is nothing to do) go to Kauai. IMO it's the most beautiful and relaxing.
Maui is beautiful but there are still activities and things you can do.
Oahu is boring.
I wouldn't get a cheap hotel is all I can say because a lot of them don't even have guaranteed air conditioning. I really like some of the Marriott Properties there but I'm not sure if you need a time share to stay there. I stayed at Sheraton Princess Kaialani (I know I screwed something up there) my first time in Oahu and it was ok but it was a good location. Last time I was on Oahu, we rented a time share and it was amazing, huge, well kept, wonderful view...I forgot who it was though, that one was not marriott.

Re: Hawaii
We stayed in the Hyatt (Oahu, Maui, Kauai) and all were beautiful. They also have a deal where if you go to more than 1 island and stay at the Hyatt, you and DH will get breakfast for free

Re: Hawaii
My sister went to Oahu and Maui...and was much happier with Maui. My friend said the same. I only went to Maui and never wanted to leave. Definitely include it in your trip. The Sheraton and Westin are both great. I recommend staying in Kaanapali...it'scentrally located and close to many things

Re: Hawaii
We stayed at Ohana East in Oahu, Waikiki and had an amazing time. The hotel is really clean & beautiful. Our room was really comfortable with a balcony view. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're planning to travel to Oahu in the Waikiki area. There are a lot of things to do there- Pearl Harbor Memorial, Diamond Head trail, Dole Pineapple Plantation, International Market Place, snorkeling, jet skiing, museums/aquariums, and dining at a lot of great restaurants in the area. I miss and love this place so much that I'm thinking of going back very soon!
