Hawaii and Cozumel

ok so right now we are trying to decide between cozumel mexico and Hawaii.
I went to cozumel just for a day trip and it was so nice. beautiful beaches and they have a huge cruise port so there is a lot of shopping and excursions which is what we want....
but what does everyone think about hawaii???
at first I wasnt thrilled about going here....the flight is long but I will get over that. my question is where should we go? and is there any kind of night life? we want a good mixture of relaxation and excitement.... does hawaii have excursions and a nightlife?

I didn't quite get to Cozumel, but I spent two weeks in the area. Hawaii has a magical feel to me, and much harder to get to. A trip to Mexico will be much easier to squeeze in for the future.
On the other hand, I love the food in Mexico, the people are so very nice,and your money will go much further!
For scenery, I give Hawaii the edge.

Go to Hawaii! We went to Maui last year and had the absolute best time. There is so much to do...so many different areas to see it. I didnt go to Kuai...but here it's also a must see. Try to visit a few islands while you are there.

hawaii was amazing!!! I would def recommend going there. Nightlife i would go to Wakiki and then relaxzing go to maui. Wikiki is more like nyc. Lost of stores and resturants. And maui is more beach and relaxing. We stayed at the Hyatt in maui and wakiki. It is definetly worth the long plane ride.

ive been to both; there is no nightlife in cozumel. go to hawaii, you'll be so happy you did. mexico can be done whenever. its just ok. hawaii is spectacular and there's tons of things to do.

waikiki is very cosmopolitan. the rest of the islands are quiet. maui is a mix of both.
