Hawaii Help (long)

Hawaii Help (long)

So we have finally looked into the details of our honeymoon and have accepted the fact that we are not getting a free week at my parent's timeshare (the exchange didn't come thru )

Question for you ladies:

We are thinking of staying in Resortquest Kaanapali Shores resort - it seems to have a really nice pool and beach area, plus it comes with a kitchen - any reviews or pics?

For the big island, we want to stay at the Waikola Marriott, which is pretty pricey but has a beautiful pool area and beach right there. Is it worth it to pay a litlte extra to have a nice pool area/beach in front of the hotel?

Also, we can't get a flight to the big island until the morning after we arrive in Maui and plan on staying at the Maui Seaside Hotel (cheap and near airport, we arrive at 8:30 pm and will fly out first thing in the am) - just want to make sure this place is cheap, but doesn't have BUGS !

Any other tips or suggestions? We are going for 1 week in each place.

you should check out tripadvisor.com. most of these places not only have reviews, but pictures as well!

Yeah I use tripadvisor a lot and they are great! You can ask the locals questions and they are pretty accurate. I used it before I went to California in July and their advise was great.
I'm also going to Hawaii and I found the forums and reviews to be very helpful in planning the trip and selecting the hotels. Good Luck!

I've been to Hawaii...let me tell you, anything on Kaanapali is outrageous. I dont know specifics about the hotel you chose, but that strip is great!! I had stayed at the Waikoloa (this was when I was like, 14, it was a Hyatt then). Did it become a Hilton, then a Mariott? Anyway, if it is the same place IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! Seriously, they have trains and boats to take you from one end of the hotel to the other, amazing restaurants, pools, swim up bars, beach, you can swim with dolphins...amazing.

Hope this helped :)

Hi I just came back from hawaii and we stayed at resort quest kaanapali shores.....the place is nice but it's not on the main strip in kaanapali..so it's a drive to the restaurants and shops....it's like a condo they were nice no bugs but ot as glamorous as some of the other hotels.....oh andyou have to pay for parking!!!! BLEH

As for waikoloa I would rather stay in KONA... more going on there but if you are gonna stay there you need to stay at the hilton i forget what the full name is
Hilton waikoloa village OMG amazing it may be expensive but it is worth every penny they have there own beach own lagoon swimming with dolphins like 6 restaurants....it was breathtaking!

HTH
Fm if you want more info
Here's some pics from the hilton

Just a tip - if you plan on staying at any Resort Quest - you can get 50% off the room rates with the Entertainment Book card.
