do you mean what hotel or what island?

Seriously - it's Hawaii - there's no such thing as a 'bad' place! 19 days and I'm on a plane there!!

Thats a very broad question, its like asking, where is a good place to stay in the state of New York. You should narrow it by island first and how much you want to spend?

If you want to relax and do nothing then go to Kauai. If you're into activities go to Maui. Most planes fly to Honolulu first so maybe stay there for a few days first. My favorite time to go is anytime in the Fall because the weather is perfect. Any other time of year is hot!

My vote would be for Maui. We were only in Hawaii for 8 days and went to The Big Island (active volcano), Maui (lush greenery), and flew over to Honululu (Pearl Harbor) for the day. Wayyy too much flying and driving for just 8 days. If you spend 2 weeks there, then you'll enjoy island hopping, otherwise stick to one. There is a lot to do in Maui. We didnt go to Kaui because we didn't want to sit and do nothing. It really all depends on what you want to do.
If you go to Maui, Fairmont Kea Lani was AMAZING! I have never been to a hotel like it. The owner of Flowers by Burton stayed there last winter and he saw Jessica Simpson there, so it has to be pretty good! ;)
I just sent someone on here a review about Maui. If you do choose to stay in Maui or The Big Island, send me FM and I will send you a review, too.

I love Maui and the Big Island. I would suggest doing two, no point in flying 10 hours and going to one island, thats my opinion.

I have been all over Hawaii, for my honeymoon I chose the Big Island and Maui. We stayed at the Marriott on the Big Island to use points, but we LOVED it. It was low key and beautiful. The service was great. It was relaxing.

The Grand Wailea on Maui was the opposite. It was beautiful but much more busy. Its a lot of fun with a great pool, lots of restaurants.

I reviewed both in my review, I talked about Hawaii a lot at the bottom. (with pictures)

We are flying to Honolulu for a few days then taking a week long cruise. It gives us the opportunity to see a few different islands and not have to get on a plane every few days. The ship also docks 2 days in Maui and 2 days in Kaui so if you want to see the 'night life' or do a luau you can. The other days are on the big island but 2 different ports-Hilo and Kono. The rates were very reasonable and were were able to upgrade to a balcony room. If you are interested check out NCL.

By the way, each island has a rainy side and a sunny side, so I would take that into consideration.

Maui - Wailea or Kaanapali are the sunny sides - Wailea is a dessert... although when we were there it was the rainiest spot on the island but that was because of a tropical storm that was messing with weather patterns. But the nice thing about Hawaii, if its raining in one place, drive somewhere else.

Kauai - Poipu Beach is the sunny side

Oahu - Waikiki and South of Pearl Harbor

Big Island - Kona, Kohala.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Hilo, due to the volcano (Madame Pele as the locals call it) acting very crazy lately Hilo is having a big problem with Vog. (Volcanic Smog) People are actually struggling to breath there right now. Its a huge issue.

The rainy sides are rain forests and some of the wettest places in the world.

Oahu feels the least like what you would expect from Hawaii, but it does have Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center. I think its like a city though.

Go to Maui.

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon?

we are going to Oahu, Kauai & Maui. We are staying in Maui the longest because it's our favorite.

We have both been to Hawaii before. I really love something about each island. I really wanted to do the Big Island again this time around, but we decided to make it a little more relaxing that we would stick to 3 islands. We actually chose between the Big Island and Kauai by picking out of a hat.
