i went to maui and kauai. we thought kauai was much better and more romantic. it's nice and quiet. maui is nice, but very commercialized.
stay at the grand hyatt in kauai....worth every penny!!!!

We are starting to look into this also and we are doing Maui and Kaui.
We would like to stay at the Hyatt in Kaui and we aren't too sure about the hotel in Maui just yet.

We went to Kauai and stayed for about 10 days. (it was just a vacation, not a honeymoon). We rented a beautiful house in the eastern part of the island, and thought it was the most wonderful vacation we ever had. We could pick papaya and guava right off the tree and have it for breakfast. If you're an outdoor kind of person it's the island to be on. The hiking's amazing, and we also brought our kayaks and kayaked up quite a few rivers. Be sure to rent a four wheel drive and drive the hunting tracks in the western part of the island. The view's spectacular, if a bit scary. On the other hand if you want more of a pampering kind of holiday then Maui is the place to be.
