So girls who are honeymooning in Hawaii, can you tell me what islands are the best and what hotels you are staying at? I keep hearing Maui and Kaui. Thanks!!

Re: Hawaii honeymoon help!!
it all depends on what you're looking for. Oahu is the most built up and city-like. It has lots to do but isn't really what you picture when you think of Hawaii. Kauai is I think the most beautiful but it's very quiet - not much to do but very relaxing and romantic. Maui is a great combination of things to do and beauty. I haven't been to the Big Island since the early '90's so I can't say what it's like now, but when I was there it was definitely more quiet than Maui but not as quiet as Kauai. Also the active volcanoes are there and I think everyone should see them at least once.

It all depends on what you want.
Personally I rank the islands... Maui, Big Island, Kauai, Lanai, Oahu. Oahu is fun but its like a city. There are tons of things to do, Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Bonsai Pipe Line, Waikiki, but it doesn't feel like Hawaii.
Maui is fun and beautiful. Its more built up then some of the others but not a city like Oahu and you can find peace and relaxation but there is also a ton to do.
I love the Big Island. To me it feels the most like what Hawaii really is. Full of lava rock and not terribly built up, but gorgeous resorts along the beaches.
Many people say Kauai is their favorite. Personally I have been to every island many times and I don't love it. Its the most rainy which is why its the most beautiful plant wise. In fact some natives were telling me that in the summer months it is the most likely to get hit by Tropical Storms and/or Hurricanes. But its the setting of many films and television shows.
For our honeymoon we stayed at the Marriott Waikoloa on the Big Island and LOVED it. It has one of the nicest beaches on the island, its the one in all the post cards. It is low key but has resort luxury. You didn't fight for the chaise lounges, you could always get a table for dinner, there were plenty of water-sports available to us. It was really amazing.
I have stayed at Kona Village in the past which is really nice and quiet and everyone gets their own hut. It really has a traditional Hawaiian feel. I highly recommend it.
The Hilton Waikoloa is crazy with water slides and many pools, dophin quest, tons of restaurants, a mono-rail and boat running through the property. I stayed there once and it was fun but it didn't' feel like Hawaii.
For the honeymoon on Maui we did the opposite and stayed at the Grand Wailea, which is the definition of luxury but much more crazy and busy. You do have to battle it out for chaises, but we had no problem getting tables and service for meals without reservations. Our room was beautiful and the pool was TONS of fun with waterslides, although it got old and we found ourselves enjoying the adult only pool. It was beautiful.
Personally I liked the Four Seasons better when I stayed there with my family, but its a lot more money and not that much nicer then the Grand Wailea, but it has a LOT less kids. The Four Seasons is GORGEOUS and you get what you pay for, they wait on you hand and foot.
The Ritz Carleton is nice, but its windy and its another one of those places you battle it out for chaise lounges. The hotels over at Ka'anapali are probably the best location wise because they are close to Lahaina and have more to do, but they are also the original hotels on the island so they are not as Grand and luxurious.
Hope I helped.

We went to Maui and Kauai and stayed at the Hyatt on both islands. The Grand Hyatt in Kauai was phenomenal! We hated to leave.
