So my FH and I are settled on Maui as one of the islands we will visit on our honeymoon to Hawaii but we are still undecided when choosing between the Big Island or Kauai as our second island. Any feedback or votes are appreciated!! Thanks ladies :)

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Kauai or the Big Island??
We are going with Kauai, but if we had more time, I'd love to go to the Big Island if only to see LAVA!!!!!

it depends what you are looking for-- i went to Hawaii for my 16th bday and we went to Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. We only spent 2 days on the big island-- just to see the volcanos. It was absolutely gorgeous. LOVED volcano national park.
I have never been to Kauai, but my parents have been. They said its absolutely beautiful and very relaxing- if you are looking for a more beachy feel, relaxing time I'd say go to Kauai.

I'd say the Big Island, but really only because I lived there for 2 years. There are a lot of cool things that are worth seeing like the green sand beach (yes, real green sand), waipio valley (really nice waterfalls) and Volcano National Park...seeing the lava flows, seeing the lava flow into the ocean. There are 2 sides of the Big Island- Hilo and Kona. Hilo has black sand beaches. It's the rainy side, so depending when you go it will be raining a lot. The Kona side is the nicer side...it's the desert side, so it doesn't rain as much as the Hilo side. I never made it to Kauai, but I heard it's really beautiful. HTH!

it depends what you are looking for ..my vote would be for Kauai...there's nothing like it ..very tranquil and laid back..you can take a helicopter ride to see the Jurassic park waterfall..also visit the Na pali coast..one of the most wild hotels i stayed out was the st regis hotel..rooms are built in the cliff side...
