Hawaii Honeymoon Question

Hawaii Honeymoon Question

Quick question has anyone been to hawaii on a cruise. FH and I are planning the honeymoon and we know we are going to Hawaii. We are just not sure about wether to do the cruise or stay on two to three different Islands. Any feedback would be appreciated. I know the prices are different and the benefit of a cruise is you don't have to worry about paying for food. I am mostly concerned with the sight seeing aspect and seeing the most that we can see. TIA ladies!!

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon Question

DH and I are going on our HM next week (Hawaii Cruise) ... we chose it for two reasons:
1) it's more affordable since you don't need to pay for food
2) it's a way to see every island without inter-island flights (we hate flying)

we did our research about each location and we'll have time to see all of the things that we're interested in, even though we only have a day per island, for the most part.

Although i never did a Hawaiian cruise, i have done 5 carribean ones and i must say that i never felt rushed on any island. I am a huge cruise person and totally would do that over an all inclusive or just getting a hotel.

FH & I were thinking about this too. Are you talking about the Norwegian cruise? I have been on many cruises- Royal Caribbean mostly and 1 Princess (which I hated) and I love them so much! I have heard some very VERY mixed reviews about Norwegian which is why I'm hesitant..

If you plan it out right, you won't feel rushed. Don't sign up for too many excursions in one day so you make sure you have time to explore on your own. Also, try to research what each stop is most known for before you commit to any tours- example: the Big Island has the erupting volcano. Rather than a beach tour, you might want to save that for another day.

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon Question

i'm using Carnival - it starts at Vancouver, Canada and ends in Hawaii. i have been on a Norwegian cruise and hated the food there (well, not hated, per se ... but it def wasn't great). So we decided to spend a bit more money on a better cruise (which also has more things to do on the ship)

I'll let you know how it goes

It's a carnival 12 day cruise. We booked about 6 months ago so we got a pretty good deal and ended up paying about $1200 per person for the cruise (in an unobstructed balcony cabin). It leaves from Vancouver Canada, has 5 days at sea, and then the Hawaiian islands (it doesn't take you back to canada when it's over). There are also other non-norwegian options, but we didn't want to book them because they stopped in mexico and we didn't want to risk getting stuck in a hurricane or whatnot.

i'll FM this to you too FM me if you have more questions though
