Re: hawaii honeymooners
We were orignially looking to fly into Oahu and Maui, but we ended up flying into Honolulu because the flights were better. I don't know if there are any directs into Maui.. def into Honolulu.
Also, check out Alaska Airlines...Alaska Airlines has a credit card with a companion ticket where the 2nd person pays $100 plus taxes and it includes Hawaii... the other airlines don't include Hawaii with these deals so it was a no brainer for us. We are saving lots of $$ on this flight because there was no way were flying that long in coach. The only downside is most of their flights are out of Newark, however that didn't matter to us. I think you may need to wait 2-3 months for the certificate, but you have some time before you need to book.
HTH!

Re: hawaii honeymooners
as others said, i don't think a direct flight exists to maui ... there is a direct flight from NJ to Oahu and then a flight to maui (i believe these are pretty affordable)
Our favorite island was Maui - you HAVE to rent a car and drive the road to hana (but make sure you read up on it because there are tons of beautiful places to stop and you really need to know about some of them). We also did the Feat at Lele (luau) which was amazing
in Oahu, we took a bus to Diamond Head and hiked to the top. It was really beautiful and i'm happy we did it but be warned that it's A LOT of walking and stairs. We also walked up and down waikiki beach and explored a bunch.

Re: hawaii honeymooners
we might use a travel agent as well because of all the stops we want to make...we want to head out to vegas for a few days, then california (san fran, maybe sonoma wine country), then hawaii, then hit up seattle on our way back...whether this is feasible or not remains to be seen, but if you do end up finding a good travel agent, def let me know. we had originally thought of doing europe, but for our honeymoon i'd really rather just sit around and be hedonistic lol...hawaii seems perfect for that!

Re: hawaii honeymooners
We did Oahu, Maui and Kauai.
In Oahu we only went for 2 nights so we could see Pearl Harbor. We stayed at The Outrigger on the Beach which is in the heart of Waikiki. I stayed at the Moana Surfrider on a previous trip and would recommend either of them. Moana is nicer, but Outrigger has Duke's which is fun.
In Maui we stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani. Most amazing hotel I have ever been to. They treated us like royalty. I felt like a celebrity and would recommend that hotel 110%. It was incredible.
In Kauai we stayed at the Grand Hyatt. It was a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds. I didn't feel the hotel was as luxurious as the Fairmont, but their grounds are just incredible (obsessed with the saltwater lagoon).
Some restaurants I'd recommend are: Mama's Fish House (Maui) Tidepools (Kauai) Donderos (Kauai)
Oh, we did the Feast at Lele in Maui and it is a MUST DO. The food was amazing, location perfect and the performance was really awesome. I'd HIGHLY suggest.
I did a ton of excursions so if you have any questions feel free to FM me.
