We are staying at the Four Seasons on Maui and the Hyatt on Kauai.
I've heard nothing but good things about them both.

Re: hawaii hotels
My travel agent raved about Hyatt Regency in Maui. I was chosing between the Hyatt, Westin, and the Four Seasons. She told me that the Hyatt was just as luxurious, but had more of a 'Hawaiian' feel to it. And the spa is supposed to be spectacular because it is literally right on the water. I really wanted the Four Seasons when I started looking, but she sold me on the Hyatt. I love dealing with people that don't try to sell you the most expensive thing.

We stayed at the Moana Surfrider also, and it was GORGEOUS. I would go back in a heartbeat. I signed up for starwood preferred guests and saved 35%. Here are some pics...
We stayed at the Hyatts on all 3 islands. I LOVED the ones on Kauai and Maui. The one on Oahu was alright, but I think you can do better. The Hilton Hawaiian village is supposed to be gorgeous.

we stayed at the hyatts on maui and kauai... loved them both but really loved the kauai resort...
your travel agent was right... while the fairmont, ritz, four seasons and westin are amazing... they dont have the tropical/hawaiian feel that the hyatt in maui has....... we visited them all and loved them... but the tropcial feeling wasn't as big as it was at the hyatt...

Re: hawaii hotels
We stayed at the Sheraton in Kauai. It was really nice. But the ocean view rooms are alot nicer and bigger than the garden view. We had a garden view @ first, told them we were on our honeymoon and upgraded us to an ocean view for FREE!

We stayed at the Four Seasons in Maui, and I have to say it was well worth it. The service was impecable. I'm glad we spent the extra money for it! Amazing! Also, we stayed at the hyatt in kaui which was nice and had an amazing pool! Wish i were going back!
