My fiance and I went to Liberty Travel to see how much Maui and Kauai would cost for about 14 days. With just the hotels, staying at the Hyatts in both islands, it would cost about 6,400 without airfare. This includes a rental car each day and breakfast.
What is the normal price about? Can anyone tell me if we're getting a good deal. It seems really high compared to what my friends have paid.

Re: Hawaii Price. Please help!
they are right on<,, THE HYATTS ARE ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS ON EACH ISLAND...
HAWAII IS NOT CHEAP AND WHEN YOU GET THERE IT IS ALOT MORE.....
YOU CAN GO BACK AND TELL THEM THAT IT IS ALITTLE TOO HIGH FOR YOUR BUDGET..
THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU. YOU NEED TOGIVE THEM AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU WERE EXPECTING TO PAY.... IF YOU THINK YOU CAN GO TO HAWAII FOR UNDER $5000 YOU NEED TO RE-THINK YOUR HONEYMOON...
IF YOU ARE IN THE $5000 RANGE YOU CAN GO TO THE ROYAL HIDEAWAY IN MEXICO AND THAT WILL INCLUDE YOUR AIR, HOTEL, ALL FOOD AND DRINK....
CHECK AROUND FOR OTHER OPTIONS...
GOOD LUCK

I'm not exactly sure what it should run, but maybe you would consider staying at the Hyatt on one island and then a slightly more reasonable place on the second island. Good luck!

Re: Hawaii Price. Please help!
We paid about 4K+ for our HM which was 10 days on Oahu and Maui, Oahu at the Sheraton and Maui at the Renissance in Wailea (A+++++).That included a rental Jeep on Maui.
What ever you decide just know, Maui especially is VERY expensive. You will spend a lot over there. But I say GO to HAWAII, it was the trip of a lifetime for us! WE LOVED EVERY SECOND!!!!!!

We're going to Maui, Kauai and Oahu - 11 days - garden view or partial ocean view (Kaanapali Beach Resort, Sheraton, Hyatt).
There's a good chance we'll be upgraded to better rooms because we're 'honeymooners'.
Includes car rentals, daily breakfast and intra-island flights.
$4,300
forgot to mention that this includes the airfare also....

We stayed at the Hyatts on both islands too. We stayed for 10 nights in partial ocean views and it was about $4,800 including a convertible each day and breakfast each day. I think the price sounds right. You may want to check with another travel agent to be sure you're getting the best price.

Re: Hawaii Price. Please help!
Unfortunately about right but gotta check multiple sources like pleasantholidays.com and celebratetravel.com (?) along with an agent like Liberty Travel. You'd be surprised that it could even be A LOT more if you upgraded rooms and hotels and fly first class. Doesn't mean you can't get it cheaper by playing around with it a little. Way to save - less nights is one because hotels are expensive and 14 days adds up (hotel, break/lunch/dinner, drinks, excursions, car - all expenses per day). Another way is to not have a partial ocean or ocean view. Maybe do a mountain view or garden view to make it more in your range. Just make sure your travel agent is familar with the hotel because just as some hotels partial ocean views blow other hotels away the same is true about garden view. You don't want to be overlooking a parking lot either when the same room in a comparable hotel you could be overlooking a true garden. Also have them stamp HONEYMOON all over everything in hopes you'll get upgraded (will do, if available at most major hotels). Another way to reiterate what others are saying - check out different hotels. A lot of great hotels to choose from but you have to do your homework. I can't remember the pricing of the Hyatt relative to others like Ritz, Kea Lani, 4 Seasons, etc. But all the major hotels have promotions from time to time and that can become important. Just have to spend time looking around. Grab one of the hawaii fodor's or moonbooks - they can often help and will be under $20.
