Hawaii Question

Has anyone been on a cruise through the hawaiian islands?
We are debating between doing a 8 day cruise, or doing 2 islands..
Please help me to decied what to do! Oh | should say that i have traveled extensively and love it, but we have both never been on a cruise so i am a little nervous!
Thanks

Re: Hawaii Question

hello!
i absolutely love to cruise however, i wouldn't cruise in HI b/c there is so much to see/do.......I don't feel that you will get the full HI experience if you cruise so my vote goes to staying on 2 islands......cruising, IMHO, is good for the carribbean and alaska but for places like europe or HI--there's just too much to see and i don't feel like a cruise will allow you to see a lot.........good luck w/your decision!

I agree! A coworker of mine did Hawaii for her honeymoon and then a cruise around Hawaii for her 1 year anniversary. IShe said that she preffered just staying in hawaii b/c you get to see and fo a lot more. But I do LOVE cruises too!

Re: Hawaii Question

We did the Hawaiian Cruise and I still got to see a lot! We arrived in Honolulu early and did Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach and a tour of the island before the cruise even left. Then we hit Maui, spent two days there and were able to do the Road to Hana and Mt. Haleakala bike tour, in Kuaia we toured the island, did a helicopter tour and visited the lighthouse, and on Big Island we did the volcanoes national park tour. I believe our cruise was 12 nights. It is definitely doable, just depends on the ship's itinerary and what you want to accomplish/see. I wanted to do it this way so that the next time we go to hawaii we know on which island we want to stay, and we can just relax!

Good luck whatever you decide

Re: Hawaii Question

I would think that going on a cruise to Hawaii wouldn't be as fun as going to the Islands themselves. There is just so much to see and do on the islands you really do need all the time do explore.

We extended our time on Maui b/c there was so much to do and we didn't have enough time to do all that we wanted to do...

If you need help planning or want some ideas FM me.
