Hawaii Restaraunt Recommendations

Any past Hawaii Honeymooners have recommendations for Maui, Kaui or the Big Island?

Thanks...you're the second person to recommend mama's fish house so we'll definitely go there.

Follow up questions...did you girls make reservations before you left for your honeymoon or did you wait until you got to Hawaii?

Thanks!

Last night I saw La Mer - in the Halekulani (Oahu) on the Travel Channel. It is the only 5 star restaurant in Oahu.

In Kauai I loved:

Brenneke's Beach Broiler - THE BEST for seafood.

Brickoven Pizza - inexpensive and SO tasty - good for casual dinner or lunch.

The restaurant at Outrigger plantation - don't remember the name but I had the best stirfry. Nice setting and good drinks too!

We made the reservation when we got there. but you need to make them !

Kauai-ALso ate at Brenneke's Beach great seafood

Oahu-didn't eat anywhere to fancy but cheeseburgers in paradise was good!

Oahu- Cheeseburger in Paradise was so good. Also Duke's Canoe Club

Big Island- The Chinese restaraunt in the Hilton Waikoloa Viillage and the Italian upstairs from it (sorry I can't remember the names anymore) Also find the Kona Brewery. Amazing Food

Maui- Longhi's in Kannapali on Front Street (Italian)

Maui: Mama's Fish House!!!! This was our favorite meal of the trip! The setting is so romantic too. We made reservation before we left (about a week or so ahead of time)

Kauai: The Beach House! The food, view (surfers) and sunset are AMAZING. Again, we made reservation before we left. I would suggest making a reservation for around 6ish. Let them know you are a honeymooner and you want a table along the windows for a view of the sunset. I know 6 sounds early but that guarantees you will get a table for the sunset and be able to keep it throughout.

Tidepools at the Kauai Hyatt was really good too. We made reservation a couple nights beforehand once we checked in. The view isn't anything special but the setting is really peaceful and the food is great.

I also recommend Brick Oven Pizza (someone else mentioned it). We ate there 2x (lunch and dinner) because it was really good and cheap, which helps to balance out some of the more expensive meals at the above restaurants.

For the places that need reservations, do you ladies recommend making them before you get to Hawaii, or letting the hotel concierge do the work and book them for you?

In Kauai, we ate at the following places: Kukui's Restaurant at the Marriott Resort, Duke's Canoe Restaurant at the Marriott Resort, and The Beachhouse Restaurant in Poipu.

In Maui, we ate at: Kimo's Restaurant in Lahaina, Longhi's Restaurant in Lahaina, Ferraro's at Seaside at the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea, BJ's Chicago Pizzeria in Lahaina, and Cheeseburger in Paradise in Lahaina. All the restaurants in Lahaina were on Front Street.

I made reservations for all these places 2 weeks before we went....all for sunset dinners at either 6:00pm or 6:15pm. Sunset starts at 6:30pm, ending at 7:00pm. We had all ocean views. I would highly recommend these places!

Here are some pics!
