Hawaii Review
Our honeymoon in Hawaii: We went to Kauai and Mauai and stayed at the Hyatt Regency and Four Seasons respectively. Both places were amazing and Hawaii itself was perfect. I know it seems that everyone goes there but there is a good reason why thats true. As for the islands, we like to be active and found more stuff to do in Kauai, (hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, golf, helicopter tour). Although you can do all the activities on both islands, we enjoyed Kauai more and relaxed more on Mauai. The Regency in Kauai was beautiful however the service at the Four Seasons was unbelievable. The restaurants we went to at both islands were great. Although the trip was not expensive, there are ways to save a buck or two from lower grade rooms, (we opted for a mountain view at the Four Seasons and received a free car and buffet breakfast for the week) to discount excursions trips to going to see a time share to playing golf after 3:00pm. My advice would be to get all the prices directly from the hotels, find out the deals and then call a travel agent and see if they can match the prices or do better. Whatever you do, Hawaii is a paradise and the best part is that you are still in the United States. Good luck to all!

What level of room did you have at the Hyatt? Were you happy with the Mountain View at the Four Seasons? Any tips for special room requests in that category? I heard that the Mountain View rooms face a parking lot. Is that true? We are planning to go to both of those hotels as well next July! I am sooo excited!

We stayed in a partial Ocean View room at the Hyatt and thought it was nice but not necessarily worth the money. However, it was nice hearing the waves crash from your room although it was too hot to sleep with the patio door open. As for the mountain view room. We were on the 6th floor and the parking lot was below us. However, the lot was covered with a green tarp and flowers on top of it. The view of the mountain was alot nicer than we expected- we even sat out on the deck and kind of liked the privacy of the room. As for booking, you can ask for the lower rooms and then ask to be upgraded however when we went the place is was full so we were not able to upgrade. The mountain view was definitely worth the money especially since we got the buffet breakfast and car (that we upgraded to a jeep) in addition to the room.

Cley - Thanks for the review. Was there any night life on Wailea. We are also going to Kauia and Maui. We are deciding between the Four Seasons or the Hyatt in Kaanapali. I know the Hyatt isn't as nice as the four season but that area has more nightlife plus if you stay at the Hyatts on both islands you get breakfast included. What is your opinion. Also, have you gotten your video from Wild Rose yet?

Sounds wonderful! Did you book it through a regular travel agent, or was it a special Hawaiian package? Without being too nosy, would you mind giving an estimate as to how much the trip ran all together? I'm trying to see if Hawaii will work w/our budget. Thnx! Continued Success!

Hawaii Review
As for the night life- there seemed to be no true night life in all of Hawaii. There is probably more going on in Kanapali. We went there one night and that was enough for us. Honestly, we have gone on the vacations where you party and drink nightly however we were exhausted in Hawaii- maybe because of the wedding or maybe because you are in the sun all day or running around- not sure. As for breakfasts, the buffet at the Hyatt was decent in Kauaii but the buffet at the Four Seasons was amazing. I felt the Four Seasons was much more reasonable (valet parking, health club, bike rental were all included and everything at the Hyatts were extra.) And as for Wild Rose, we have not even picked our songs- we talked to Bill and he said we could take out time and that it is better if we wait cause he is so busy as are we. I will post the review when it is complete- I know it will be worth every penny.

We budgeted $300 a day spending and with that and using miles for our tickets, all together we spent about $9,000. I did all the research and then we used a Liberty Travel and they saved us about $200- We did not use any package except for we go a deal on our convertible in Kauai and we received breakfast for free at both places and a Jeep on Mauai.

i just booked my honeymoon in July. For two nights in oahu, six in Maui, and 4 in Kauai, staying at the Hyatt`s, we are spending about $7600- includes breakfast, car. I think the travel agent called it a Hyatt hopper package.Welcome New Vendors
