We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon, and plan on staying on Oahu, Kuaui and Maui. Our agent gave us prices for staying at either the Sheraton or the Hyatt on all 3 (the Hyatt being @ $1000 more). I would appreciate any opinions on both hotels to help us decide. Thank you.

Hawaii: Sheraton or Hyatt
Im going to Hawaii also and you should check out Fodders.com. It really helped us make our hotel decisions. I know people who have stayed at each one of those hotels and as usual, some people liked them and some did'nt. We were getting dizzy from all the different opinions so we bought the frommers book and went to the Fodders.com site and then booked what we thought we would love. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Hawaii: Sheraton or Hyatt
The Sheraton's are nice, but there is nothing like the Hyatt. I know that they can be a little more expesive, but if you can swing it it's worth it. The best of all is to go into the Regency Club at the Hyatt. They are beautiful rooms with free breakfast and free snacks all day.

Hawaii: Sheraton or Hyatt
I have only one friend who stayed at the Sheridan in Kauai and Maui and loved it. She said one was alot nicer than the other...but I can't remember which one..I think Maui.
But almost everyone I talked to highly recommends the Hyatt in Kauai. I heard it is the best hotel on the island. I also heard a lot of great things about the Hyatt in Maui.
As for Maui, I just got price quotes for 4 hotels in Maui and the Hyatt was the highest...which I wasn't expecting. There is a special which make hotels like the 4 Seasons and Ritz Carlton and Grand Wailea cheaper if you plan on staying there for 5 nights (5th night free)...so it is something to check out!
It is getting pretty crazy...I am getting so many different opinions! I think I need the Fodders book...my friend said it is pretty right on the money!

Hawaii: Sheraton or Hyatt
I am trying to decide between Hyatt and Sheraton in Maui. I am going to try to plan oahu for just a few days, but most of my trip will be Maui so that is what I am really stuck on. I stayed at Hyatt in Aruba and really loved my stay there.

Cindy, I am having the same problem.....
I can't decide between the Sheraton or Hyatt in Maui. I am only staying in Oahu for a couple of days so I am not that concerned in looking for a hotel there yet. I've heard great things about both hotels but was wondering if it was really worth the extra money to stay at the Hyatt when it seems like the Sheraton is a beautiful hotel as well. I can't decide! Let me know what you decide on. Thanks!

Cindy & SIREV: what I've heard about both
I went to Fodors.com and read the reviews on both hotels. Fodor's gave both a good review, although the Hyatt is a 'Foder's Choice' pick. People had mixed things to say about the Sheraton in the 'rants&raves' section, and there were no reviews in this section for the Hyatt. Most people seem to say that the Hyatt is a more luxurious hotel. But I still don't know if it's woth the extra $$. I'm going to discuss this with my agent and see what she has to say. Please let me know what you find out and I will do the same!

Hawaii: Sheraton or Hyatt
We`re are just about to finalize our honeymoon plans. We`re going to stay at the Sherton, in Kuai, and probably in Maui too. We did consider the Hyatt. We chose the Sheraton, because of the location on the beach. Even though both the Sheraton and the Hyatt are beachfront, many of the reviews rave about the Sheraton`s location with respect to the beach. Also, the Hyatt seems to have more as far as spa stuff goes, which is partly why it`s more expensive, but we`re not really looking for any of that.
Hope this helps.

I will let you know any info I find out and my decision. I know a couple who honeymooned at the sheraton and loved it. I really enjoyed the Hyatt at Aruba so that is why I am also thinking of Hyatt. They both seem very nice. Hopefully if I get more time I will start to do more research. Keep me posted on your decision and what you find out. Thanks
