Waikiki
Pearl Harbor-Arizona Memorial City Tour
**We took a hotel shuttle to Pearl Harbor (stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott) early in the morning. After we finished at Pearl Harbor, we walked over to the Bowfin and the USS Missouri (the Mighty Mo). This took us about a half day and we then just took a shuttle back to the hotel and went to the beach. Cost us practically nothing but we really enjoyed it all**
Maui
Old Lahaina Luau
Haleakala Sunrise Tour
**Old Lahaina Luau is said to be the most authentic and best luau on the islands. However, just so you are aware, there is NO fire dancing at this luau, so do not be disappointed. We ended up doing a luau on Kauai so we didn't do one on Maui, but if we did, we would have done the Feast at Lele because you get your own table (just you and your hubby) and the earlier you book the better your seats, it's also a sit down dinner instead of buffet, the food is said to be better, and the show is great and includes a fire dancer. It's a bit pricey, about $115 per person, but for a nice romantic sit down dinner AND a show, I think it's worth it.**
**Haleakala Sunrise Tour is the one thing I wish I would have done while on Maui!!! I have heard such wonderful things about it. Some things to note: MAKE SURE YOU DRESS WARM!!! It's said to be in the 30's up there at sunrise! Dress in layers and bring blankets from your hotel so that you can remove layers as necessary after the sun comes up.**
Kauai
Kayak & Hidden Valley Falls Hike
**We didn't do this. On Kauai what we did was rent a car and drive around. We went to some of the popular places/beaches. Then we got rained out because of some heavy storms during the rest of our time on Kauai so our helicopter ride was cancelled. We ended up booking a heli flight while on Maui - see below.**
Maui - I think
Road to Hanna?
Bike tour down the volcano?
**We did part of the road to Hana but we didn't have a guide book or tapes - BIG mistake! We ended up just going by the road signs so I'm not sure how much we missed. We ended up hiking into Twin Falls where I slipped on wet rocks and twisted my ankle horribly - I practically had to be carried back out! So be careful if you hike inwards to any of the falls. It was a nice drive etc., but if you do the entire thing, it is said to be a long day. I would consider doing it though - so long as we had a guidebook or the tapes.**
**We also did a West Maui and Molokai helicopter tour while on Maui - it was awesome. About a one hour ride and it was beautiful.**
One activity that I would HIGHLY recommend is the Trilogy trip out to the island of Lana'i. It was THE BEST day we had in all of Hawaii. It leaves from Lahaina and you travel in a catamaran over to Lanai. On the catamaran you're treated to fresh homemade cinnamon buns, drinks, etc. You'll encounter spinner dolphins that will swim right alongside your catamaran, and if you go during whale season like we did, you get to see the beautiful whales too! THen you get to Lanai and you're on a private beach, you can explore the area, play sports, play in the water, snorkel, lay out, etc. Then you have a barbeque style lunch and head back. Its a whole day thing like from 9am to 5pm or so, and we loved it!
I can try to find out the name of the company that I booked most of our excursions with if you like. Just FM me.
