We are already going to stay 5 days on Oahu. Does anyone have a suggestion about where else to go for another few days? I want to see at least one volcano and FH wants to be able to do some relaxing as well. and we absolutely do not want to go on a helicopter tour b.c I will get sick.
Any ideas?? TIA

Re: Hawaii - where should we go?
We are in process of pricing our honeymoon to Maui/Kauai. Kauai is supposed to be a bit more quiet and relaxing.

We went to the Big Island. We stayed at the Haupena Prince (BEYOND GORGEOUS!) and went to volcano national park. We spent the day driving around the island...it was awesome! The beach was great where we stayed too!

kauai! We loved kauai, better than maui. Everyone said it was quiet and relaxing but it's really what you make of it. There's so much to do there but of course you can just chill on the beach if that's what you want to do.

If you want to see a volcano you have to go to the big island (hawaii) thats the only place that has an active volcano. Kauai is very lowkey and relaxing but maui can be that way too. I personally like Kauai more than Maui. What exactly are you looking for though? Kauai has lots the outdoor hiking since your FH wants to do that.

Re: Hawaii - where should we go?
I guess I just wanted to see an active volcanoe and FH wants to not hike . . . relax. . . I wish I could hike, I am not physically fit or active enough for it. How do we get from Island to Island - is that expensive? What about, where would you recommend to stay on Kauai? I would like to find a way to see the Na Pali side (I know it's undeveloped or inhabitable). If we take some sort of cruise will I get sea sick? Is it rough?
Thanks!!

Re: Hawaii - where should we go?
It's so hard to pick a favorite island!
Oahu - Waikiki Beach/Honolulu is very city-ish. Lots of bars, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, etc.
Kauai - laid back and quiet but stunningly beautiful. It's great if you want to do outdoorsy stuff like hiking, snorkeling, etc. Not much nightlife.
Maui - in between the two as far as nightlife.

flights between islands are quick and cheap....50 each way at most. Try go! airlines or hawaiian air. They have a new ferry boat in between the islands but i have heard mixed things. The water in the winter is rougher and I have heard that people get sick on the ferry boat. They have cruises that you can see most of the islands but then they also have day cruises and snorkel trips to little islands 'snorkel spots' I know you can do this in Maui and Kauai.
