Re: hawaiiain luaus
hi,
i went to hawaii last year, but i do not remember what luau we went to
my only advice is that you may want to eat before hand. i did not enjoy the pork, to me it had a funny taste and the rest of the food was not that plentiful!
i will try to find out which one it was.

Re: hawaiiain luaus
groovypeg--was it the old lahaina luau? the one where you sit with other people and have a choice of sitting on the floor or at a table?---i am trying to figure out if we want to sit traditionally (on the floor) or at a regular table--
does anyone know which has a better view?

I attended the one at the Hyatt. I didnt go to the one you plan on going to, but always saw the parking lot full at night when we went into town for dinner.

I sat at a table for the Old lahaina Luau. The view was fine but the people siiting on the floor were closer.

Re: hawaiiain luaus
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I think the floor is the best view so I would say the floor. If you're not into sitting on the floor, you'll still see fine. I really liked it, you'll have a lot of fun.

Re: hawaiiain luaus
FH isn't crazy about family style seating - are all the luau's family style? We'll be out there the first and second weeks of August - is it too late to book for a luau? We'll be in Maui and Kuai.

Re: hawaiiain luaus
it's not too late to book for the luaus and they aren't all family seating--the feast at lele in maui is just the two of you

How do you go about booking these from home?

Re: hawaiiain luaus
We did Old Lahaina. Sit on the FLOOR You get the true Hawaiian feeling that way. We sat on the floor on pillows and low tables, we had the best view

Re: hawaiiain luaus
betty, just call and reserve over the phone w/a cc. They don't take the $$ until the morning of the show at 11 am. You can cancel any time before then.

Re: hawaiiain luaus
I really wouldn't recommend the Feast at Lele unless you like to eat small portions of exotic food for a very high price. The Hawaiian show was good, but we didn't think it was worth the money at all.
