Hawaiian Honeymoon

Can anyone give me some info on Hawaiian Honeymoons? We are thinking of going there but I know NOTHING about Hawaii except Pearl Harbor and I'm not even sure where that is. I'd like to see it, btw. Any info / suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Hawaiian Honeymoon

Initially, I asked a few of my friends who have been there and then decided which islands we wanted to go to. I bought the 'Revealed' books for those islands. We're going to Oahu and Maui. Check out this link

We're going to Pearl Harbor, it's on Oahu

My FH and I have been to all four major islands - The Big Island (which is actually called Hawaii), Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. We also went for a day to the island of Lana'i, off the coast of Maui.

Our personal favorites were Maui and Lanai. GORGEOUS islands. Kauai is good to go to if you want a realllllly laid back time. It was too laid back for us, but it's pretty. Oahu has Waikiki beach and Pearl Harbor. Waikiki Beach and it's surrounding areas is more like a city scene. *Almost* like a mini south beach, but not the same thing. The Big Island has two sides - the Kona side and the Hilo side. The Hilo side is the rainy side, so keep that in mind. We enjoyed it, but we enjoyed the Kona side more. And then Maui was what we were expecting Hawaii to be - green, but still saw some familiar commercial things around. Great food, beautiful beaches, etc etc.

Good luck! All the islands are gorgeous - you'll have a great time!

I suggest going to the library and taking out books on hawaii, you can get Fodor or Frommer books from there...and you can look at all the things in Hawaii. That is what we did.

Re: Hawaiian Honeymoon

We went to Hawaii for 2 weeks and split our time between Oahu, Kauai, and Maui... We both wanted to see Pearl Harbor, so we went to Oahu first and stayed at the Outrigger on Waikiki beach. We also went to a Luau here... Although Oahu is more city-like, we still enjoyed ourselves!

So after 3 days, we went to Kauai and stayed at the Marriott. This Island is very low-key and you need to rent a car. We took a catamaran trip to see the Napali Coast, which was amazing!!

From there we headed to Maui where we stayed at the Hyatt on Kanapali Beach for a week. (car here as well) We just happened to do most of our excursions on this island...snorkling, road to Hana, Helicopter Tour, etc...

Hawaii does get kind of pricey, but we had an amazing Honeymoon and cant wait to go back!

Good Luck!
