Any girls planning on Hawaii? If so what islands? We met with Liberty Travel in Rego Park and the agent suggested Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. A doctor at my office just came back yesterday and suggested the Hilton Waikoloa on the Big Island.
Any info or ideas? Thanks.

I got myself 'Hawaii for Dummies' and I read it cover to cover.....and.....I'm more confused now! I've also polled our friends thathave been there - and there seems to be totally conflicting feedback based on opinions. I want to make sure we don't overextend ourselves - and I DON'T want to live out of suitcases (you know - see every island and never really relax... ).
Since FI loves history - we have to do the Pearl Harbor thing (even though 2 of our friends said to 'absolutely not go there'). According to my research the Big Island is the most 'American' - outside of Honolulu......so I'm thinking Maui and Oahu....maybe one of those other remote islands (can't remember names right now). So confused!

I've heard that Kauai is supposed to be very beautiful. a lot of movies like jurassic park were filmed there. This island is also not as touristy, so it might be a good place to go to get away from it all.

we wanna do maui, oahu, and kaui. My FSIL did this for her honeymoon and enjoyed every minute of it. So I am basing my plans off of what she did.

I feel the same way. Everyone says something different. I wasn't really considering Kaui but it's starting to sound really good. It seems a lot of LIW girls aren't that crazy about Oahu...but I definitely want to see Pearl Harbor and so does FH. So maybe we'll make it a short stay. Thanks girls for the responses and keep the ideas coming.

FI and I have friends that LIVE on the Big Island and FI went to visit them for about a month (this was before he met me of course - RATS!!!) Anyhoo, from what I'm told the Big Island is great. I can't imagine there's really a 'bad island' though.

We've both always wanted to go there. I've spoken to a few people who went and I think we're gonna hit Kuai and Maui, I'd also love to see Pearl Harbor tho.
Also, thinking about doing a cruise around the islands, just have to unpack once then. Neither of us have ever been on one, so it's a possibility!
