I heard the hyatts are really good, but alittle pricey, I am staying at the sheratons, we haven't picked out our activites yet, We went to liberty travel and got a hawaii book and explains all the activites to do on each island. i don't rem. on what island but there a bike ride you go on at 2am and ride down the mountain and see the sunset etc. when u get there u can book too. talk to your travel agent.

I heard the Hyatt on Maui was good, I don't know anyone who stayed at the one in Oahu but, I'm sure it's great.

We're staying at Starwood Hotels (Sheraton in Oahu and Westin in Maui) because we have a ton of points.

that sunset bike ride is on Maui and is supposed to be amazing....a must do.
On Maui you also need to do the road to Hana...but I heard get your own guide book and do it yourself....Maui Revealed book is supposed to be the best book.

Oahu you have Pearl Harbor to do...there's also Diamond Head. It's more of a city on Oahu, just FYI. You won't get that tropical island feel there. I've heard most people just like to spend no more than 2 nights on Oahu.

If you have time and want to add a third island to your trip you should check out the Four Seasons on the Big Island...supposed to be amazing. Also Kuai and Lanai are supposed to be really nice islands.

we are staying at the Hyatts in Maui & Kauai. They were pricer, but I keep hearing they are well worth it. If you book both Hyatts, make sure you get the island hopper package which includes breakfast. Otherwise, I heard their bfast buffet is in the ballpark of $60/couple!

I also learned that staying in Oaho is a good way to bring your number of room nights up while keeping the price of the trip a little lower. Hotels in Oaho are signifigantly cheaper than the other islands (I hear good things about the Outrigger there -- its something like $220/night vs. $400+)

The Westin in Maui is supposed to be really nice, too. The Sheraton in Kauai gets a lot of really mixed reviews I've noticed -- I'd check Trip Advisor.

FM me if you have any questions.

I'm staying at the Four Seasons in Maui. I've heard nothing but great things about it. It's pricey, but everyone tells me that it's worth it though.

Good luck planning!

The Four Seasons in Maui was amazing!! We loved it. The service was incredible. When we booked it was the same price as the Hyatt. The bed was so comfortable. The only slight complaint I had was that our room was really far from the elevator, but we were close to the parking garage, which was convenient when we went out (we did the self-park.)

Ooh Maui! Went there about a year and a half ago. You probably wouldn't want to stay at our hotel, it was nice but very basic, but here are some ideas for activities:

Definitely get the book called 'Maui Revealed' by Andrew Doughty and Harriett Friedman. It made out trip awesome! You must plan to do the drive to Hana.. and this book will tell you all the little stops along the way that you will want to make... black sand beach, red sand beach, hidden waterfalls! It was the best!

Also, take some time to do the sunrise bike down Haleakala Volcano. It's not as scary as it sounds... the road is paved and goes down the outside of the mountain! But you have to be up really early.. we left at 2 am to meet the bus, then they take you to the top of the mountain for the sunset, give you biking gear and send you down to enjoy the views! Suggestion: go with a bike company that lets you separate from the group and go at your own pace. A lot of them make you take a follow the leader type approach to getting down the mountain! Enjoy!

I was on the phone with Continental this morning because I thought they cancelled my FH's flight reservation and the very nice woman (especially since I freaked out on her) was telling me about 95 cent mai tais at the Outrigger in Oahu. Ohana I think she said (I wrote it down).
