We went to the same three. We spent the most time in Kauai but, if I did it again, I'd spend more time in Maui. We spent the least time in Oahu, if I did it again, I'd either spend more or less time. We didn't venture too far off Waikiki Beach and it was a little too crowded/metropolitan for me to enjoy as much as the other islands.

Re: Hawaiian honeymoons
We are going to Maui and The Big Island. I've already been to Oahu so I didn't want to go back. We chose Maui because everyone we spoke to says it's paradise, but there's also tons to do. And we chose the Big Island because we want to see the volcanoes.

Re: Hawaiian honeymoons
we went to these:
Big Island-3 days Maui - 4 days Kauai-3 days Oahu-4 days
I've been there before and have seen the islands except for Kauai.
We went to each of the islands because they are all different. If we did it again, we would do this:
Big Island 2 days Maui-3 days Kauai-4 days Oahu-4 days
And this was because we saw everything we had to see, then we relaxed on the island. We were moving almost all the time to see everything.

Re: Hawaiian honeymoons
My FH and I have been to all four of the major islands and Lana'i (small island off coast of Maui).
Maui is paradise - exactly what we envisioned Hawaii to be - beautiful, lush, tropical, but still some modern things.
Oahu - more commercialized. Waikiki reminds me of a smaller South Beach (without the nightlife). I personally liked it, but if we went back to Oahu, we'd probably try to stay on the North Shore which is more untouched.
Kauai - we got rained out most of the time we were there. It is pretty much untouched, but we just felt a bit bored. We didn't have anything to do except drive to different beaches, etc. (and we got lost one day )
Big Island/Hawaii - we loved the Kona (dry) side of the Big Island. We did a great tour on the Hilo side (wet/rainy) side so we really enjoyed it, but I would prefer the Kona side much more.
HTH!

Re: Hawaiian honeymoons
Oahu because of pearl harbor, polynesian cultural center, Dole, Diamond head
Maui because of the downhill bike ride and I am sure other things I can't think of now
Kauai because it is the garden island, less busy, and more relaxing
Big Island Kona, the active volcano
we loved Kauai and going back this summer. FM me if you need any other info

Re: Hawaiian honeymoons
ive only been to Oahu out of all the islands a few times, and weve meant to go to others, but have not yet. I really love Oahu it's exactly like mrs.Q posted above, a mini-south beach. Lots of boutiques, resturants, huge beaches, shows, its fun!
