When did you purchase your head piece? I just ordered my gown yesterday and they said you don't order headpieces until the gown comes in, but my hair trial is Saturday and the hair person wants to do my trial with a head piece! I'm so confused!
Did you do your hair trial with a head piece or just wait until the day of to figure it out?

I just ordered my headpiece and veil on Saturday. My dress just came in last week. I haven't had my hair trial yet. I didn't want to do any trials too far in advance since my taste has definitely changed during the wedding planning but that's just me.
ETA: You could pick out your tiara/headband, whatever without having your veil and just take that to the trial.

It's hard to pick out a headpiece without at least having a vague idea what you are doing with your hair. For example, you can't use some pieces unless at least some of your hair is up. Some tiaras look funny without some height to your hair. Etc. You should at least have an idea before buying. Also, at my shop we let girls borrow our samples because some hair products (hairsapray in particular) can dull the finish of your headpiece. I would talk to your hairstylist. She can't at least do a preliminary without your headpiece? Explain it to her. You could buy something cheap from Claire's or someplace to get an idea and then buy a nice piece for the wedding.

I ordered my head piece and veil over the summer, and my gown isn't coming in until March. I'm scheduled to pick up my head piece and veil in December......which is still a few months before my gown is coming in.
I plan to bring both the head piece and veil for my trial.

I'm using the person who always does my hair. I love how she does it and she's done my hair for other events. No one knows how I like it or how it behaves better than she does.
