girls who have already given your headcounts to the RH... did you give your real headcount or did you knock a few off assuming you'd have last minute cancelations?
REAL - we only had 1 no show and got to take the meal home...

Re: headcount question
I knocked off four. I HONESTLY think a couple marked yes by mistake... and another two...

Re: headcount question
I gave my real, which was 125, a couple of people were no shows and canceled at the very last minute (an hour before!)

Re: headcount question
For my eparty, we told the RH we were having 70 adults, when we really had 77 RSVP's. The day of the party, 4 ppl were no shows. So we were supposed to pay for 3 people.....but the RH never noticed

This is what I was thinking. I'm planing on paying for , let's say, 150 people, right? So while i'm expecting 150, I tell them 144. 146 show up. So I pay for the 'extra' 2 people and save on the 4 who were actually no shows unbeknownst to the RH.
If I have the $$ ready to go in anticipation of this, since I budgeted for 150 anyway, is that a problem?

Re: headcount question
I think that sounds like a good idea but i am confused as to how you would handle the place settings. would they just squeeze people in if everyone actually shows up?

My hall can fit 12 per table and I'm aiming for 10... so I'd just be prepared with which tables to tell them to set 2 more places.

Re: headcount question
I'm gonna tell themn a few under...because from what I've heard people always cancel or are no shows

Re: headcount question
i would not worry about how the RH handles the place settings - this is what they do every single weekend. but of course i wouldn't undercut by tooooo many- you don't want them setting up an extra table.
i would tell them fewer than you expect. how many fewer depends on the situation of your RSVPs. if you have more flaky/elderly invitees than most, then adjust accordingly.

the place settings wouldn't matter if you had people cancel the week of, after you gave headcounts but before you gave table arrangements... i guess it would be a pain in the butt for day-of cancellations
