I think I've seen hair combs that resemble a tiara.

I wore a wire, pearl, and crystal headband that I made myself. You can kind of see it here:

and a closeup here, but it doesn't look as nice as it did on the day of the wedding:

it's not all that hard to make, and is only as expensive as the materials you use (which depends on what you want on it: crystals, pearls, just plain metal, etc)

that's very pretty! Would definitely look adorable with short hair (assuming that's you and your hair in your userpic)

I think that's a great idea.
Take a nice wide band of satin to match the color of your dress, maybe add a nice brooch or hair pins/sticks to make it sparkle.
Definitely try Barrons - they may be able to make it for you, and to figure out a way to keep it in your hair without sliding, may be a little bit of velcro sewn discretely inside the band.
I didn't want a tiara or headband so I wore a comb of pearls and crystals made to look like small flowers. Not sure if I have any good pics yet.

Re: Headpiece help?

I had my hair half up and half down.

I had a comb with flowers (and leaves and berries). So did my MOH.

They coordinated with our bouquets
