Health Care Bill and Your Insurance after marriage
So what do you guys think of the health care bill that is pending now? If it passes, do you plan to make any changes to your own insurance like getting FH to get onto your policy at work or vice versa? Do you think it will affect how you plan for things in the future?
I think for me, I am fortunate to have insurance through my job but I predict if the bill is signed, my health insurance costs will go up, of course..

I believe that I read that if you already have insurance through your employer, the rates should not go up...but I guess seeing is believing.
I dont know how this bill will effect us that are already paying for health care, but I think it is a good thing, obviously if you had no health insurance due to a pre existing condition. People with situations like that are the ones that will benefit..sounds like to me.
I am trying to find out more about the Student Loan reform that is part of this bill. From what I have read, they are doing away with the Private Loan companies, and the government will be issuing all loans. (I have a daughter in college who will not be eligible for much federal funds starting next year after I marry, so it is of interest to me)

Yes, def happy that it is passing even though the higher price increases will really place a strain on all taxpayer pockets.
What worries me is how the Gov't is completely taking over the Student Loan area...I am not sure how or WHY student loans reform is squeezed into this health care bill... but I am not a fan of Sallie Mae getting richer while students pursuing higher education keep getting into more and more debt because these loan companies just give these loans away like candy.
