Heartburn

I've been getting it alot lately, even when I eat something that is very plain. Tums seems to help, just not sure what could cause it...? Anyone else have this?

Re: Heartburn

I get it once in awhile, even this early.....I think I read it could be from laying down.

Re: Heartburn

its just the muscles in your stomach and esopagus (sp?) relaxing. Its VERY common getting it for no reason (even after drinking just water) after your 28th wk. I drink warm milk and it makes mine go away.

Re: Heartburn

I had such bad heartburn, didn't matter what I ate. I was eating Tums like they were going out of style. The only thing that helped was delivering the baby and then it was gone. Hang in there this too will pass .

Re: Heartburn

I have had really bad heartburn/indigestion since week 30. Tums helped a lot at first, but then I was taking way too many a day to cope. My doctor gave me a prescription for Zantac which makes it much more tolerable. I hate taking medication now, but in this case I was suffering 24 hours a day....

Re: Heartburn

I remember my doctor telling me that once your belly gets bigger it pushes up on your diaphragm and this in turn puts starin on your stomach and esophogus which caused heartburn and reflux to get worse. Down lie down flat and eat smaller, more frequent meals.
