heeelp

So I went to Atlantis Marine world on Sun and FH and I loved it. Where we sat down with the catering manager he told me the proce was $129 per person...and for some reason I thought he said including tax(because another place I went to told me the price with the tax). So I thought that was a great price. And he threw in a pasta station at cocktail hour and a 4th dinner option. But not I am freaking out because I feel I should have haggled for more things. Ahh...I havn't signed the contract yet (just got it in the mail) and my deposit has not been charged to my credit card( they must be waiting till the get back the contract). Is it crazy to ask for more things now?? I went to VYC and it was $125 a person and you got a WHOLE lot more. What should I do???

Re: heeelp

its really up to you. if you think vyc is better because of the price, and they offered more then i would say book there, but if youre heart is set on atlantis, then maybe the Banquet manager can work on the price with you

Re: heeelp

i would tell them what VYC offered you at the same price and see if they could match it...

Re: heeelp

I'm in the process of booking VYC, I'm so excited!!! My FH and I are working with Bill (aparently there are 2 of them there.. he's the VP of the company) and he is making us feel like he will go out of his way for us in any way possible to make us comfortable- we are able to adjust the menu and the price CAN'T BE BEAT! And we looked around- I wish you luck but don't settle for anything... this is your day, they are technically buying you - not the other way around. Don't stress over this and get what you deserve!

Re: heeelp

OH and by the way, I definitly agree with mentioning VYC to Atlantis, that will give them insentive to work more with you. Good Luck

Re: heeelp

Thank You Serendipity1141. Yes I am def going to do that. Your thing says Vineyard Caterers...are you switching venues?

Re: heeelp

OK- now I feel stupid... lol, I am going to Vinyard caterers. All this shorthand stuff- I though VYC meand Vine Yard Caterers...

Re: heeelp

I was actually at Venetian Yacht Club last night and worked with Daisy... we were 85% sure about Vineyard caterers, but I had to see the Venetian before I could make a final decision- My mom is in a wheelchair and there is NO WAY that she could manuever around the Venetian Yacht club comfortably- I don't want to have to worry about ramps and elevators.

Re: heeelp

Lol...dont worry...I had no idea what all those accronims stood for either But I heard Vinyeard caterers is amazing...and right out by where I will be If you don't mind me asking what are you paying per person? My mom really wanted me to look there...but i def wanted a beach theme. Thanks again

Re: heeelp

If you want Atlantis tell them all the things VYC is offering - you might be pleastantly surprised. You know my feelings on VYC - I am slightly obsessed and Bill has gone above and beyond for us but you need to be happy

Re: heeelp

Hey No problem - We are not officially BOOKED yet.. we have an appointment to go back- BUT I can tell you that Thursday is 85pp, Friday was 100, and Saturday was 120... AND that was a STARTING price... I like to think that starting prices can always be worked on. I was told that the number of people guaranteed may make a difference and we are planning on paying cash which can help as well-

I have to tell you that I heard really great things about Lombardis on the Sound for a beach wedding- and my cousin got married @ Land's End.. also beautiful. Whatabout Chateau Le Mer and Captain Bills? Also great for 'on the water'?

Re: heeelp

Well I am going to book at Atlantis...it is really an amazing setting. I actually live down the block from Captain Bills and am thinking of having the E-party there. Thank you for all of your help...everyone!!!!

Re: heeelp

ive been to a wedding at atlantis and ill be honest i wasnt that impressed..the seating was strange (i couldnt even see the cake cutting, we were on a balcony) the dance floor was oddly placed. but plusses were the cocktail hr was nice and the bars were accessable...food was good...overall i think you should go with what offers more to you.

one thing to make sure if you choose atlantis is try to arrainge seating so eveyone can see
