I worked with Liz and she was great. I'm in the process of ordering my dress now. They are not pushy at all. And they gave me great prices.

Just wanted to add, that I called today to find out when I should order my dress since I want to lose weight. No Pressure, and they told me October I should come back.

Absolutely wonderful... i worked with Liz and I can't wait for my dress to come in..... Liza gave me trunk show discount a month early (I was there for bonny trunk show and found maggie sottero dress and her trunk show wasn't until a month later) plus $100 off. Without alterations my dress was only $835.00..... Give them a try!!!

Re: Helen's Bridal Center - yay/nay?

I went to Helen's Bridal in Commack for her Bonny Bridal trunk show last Saturday just to really start looking for my wedding dress. I worked with Liz who was awesome. I ended up buying a Maggie Sottero dress from there in less than an hour and a half...

Liz was Great!!! We heard the staff laughing and having a great time from the second we walked into the store. They are located inside of Wedding World (which I did not know when I walked in and at the time wasn't happy about) but she was helpful and knew exactly what I was looking for. She suggested another dress(the one I ended up buying) after one of the Bonny dresses made me feel too much like Jessica Rabbit. I tried it on and the image of my wedding day popped into my head.. It was everything i wanted my dress to be... classy, elegant, different and I won't end up hating it in 20 years!!!!

The best part.... The dress wasn't supposed to be discounted until the end of July when the Maggie Sottero trunk show was going to be held but Liz took care of me anyway so I didn't have to come back. Not only did she give me the 10% discount but they also had a store coupon for $100.00 off !!!! After the discounts plus shipping fees and tax the total was only $835 before alterations. Liza also capped the alterations at $99 for the bustle (up to 9 points) and the hem at $175.00. Basic alterations were capped at $295.00.. Liz went through sizing with me and because Maggie's dress have the bras built into the dress and is a corset back (which can just be pulled tighter)I probably won't need many alterations, just the hem and bustle!!!.. Not having to buy a new bra just for the wedding dress and not needing a slip underneath saves a ton of money!!
I couldn't believe I was going to get my dress at the first real store I went to but it was everything I wanted... Definitely give Helen's a try!!!!!

I don't remember anyone's name from there, lol. However, everyone that works there is very helpful; they're not pushy, they take their time with you.

I'm actually ordering my dress from there.

how did it go??

Ashley helped me last nite and she was the sweetest girl. Actually - she is Liz' daughter. I probably tried about 20 dresses. She was so patient - and funny - we had a good time. I did find one I like - just don't know if its 'the' dress. Its Enzoani Aberdeen. I think I'm just one of those people who has to think about it for a while. Don't know if I'll ever get that 'feeling'.

Thanks for checking up on me Jess

Re: Helen's Bridal, Commack

you know...

I think there are girls that put on a dress and say 'oh my god, its the one' I'm not that girl, never have been.

I've always said, I want a dress that looks good on me.

When you do find a dress, go back and have them price it out, they are saving me a few $$$.

OK - so I'm not the only one then. Obviosly I have time so I'm not crazed yet. I have the week before Labor Day off so I'll do more shopping then.

They have been nothing short of fantastic.

Liz is amazing to work with, and Ashley is great as well. I am soo happy that I went with them. My dress, my mom's and my girls' dresses are all ordered from there, and ALL of us have been completely happy with them.

I plan on having my girls get their dresses there. The last bridal party I was in, that is where we got the dresses. They are very reasonable as far as price goes and they have some really nice dresses. We also dealt with Ashley who was a sweetheart. Tula did our alterations and did a great job. The only negative thing I have to say about them is they don't have very flexible hours. But overall I was really impressed.
