hello all 2004 brides, I am another one!

Hey everyone,

Well I have been a member of this site for a while now, but haven't made many posts. Basically I read around and take in all the good advise. Ok, but here is my problem. I am a 03/04 bride and only have my hall and church booked! After reading everyones posts i am getting a bit nervous, and feel I really need to get a move on all of the other things such as band, flowers, and a my dress would be nice . Since everyone has done such a good job organizing themselves I thought maybe you could help me prioritize what I still need to do, which is everything! Any thoughts would be appreciated, and thanks so much in advance!

Congratulations and welcome!! I am a 4/04 bride and so far all I have booked is the hall and the church too. I am a huge procrastinator!! Don't worry, lots of people plan a wedding in less than a year and we still have over a year to go. Right now I am starting to look at photographers. Next will probably be the DJ. If you are looking for a band, I would try to do that soon. They can book up quickly. I wouldn't worry too much about the flowers or dress right now. Here's my priority list so far:
Photo/Video
DJ/Band/Cocktail Hour music
Dress
BM dresses
Flowers
Hair/Makeup
Honeymoon
Wedding Rings
Invitations
Favors

Welcome!
You have plenty of time so don't worry.
After the hall, I started working on a band. (still working on that). Since I want a band I have to wait to either make appointments to hear cds or go to showcases. So, then I started researching photographers and videographers. I booked both over the holidays. Once the band is done, then I'll take a break for a month or so and move on to florists and looking for a dress!!! Then BM dresses, limos, invites, etc....

Dont worry there is still plenty of time to plan. The only thing I tried to do is book the things that I know are only available for one or two people. ie. photographer, hall...

hello again everyone,

thanks so much for the encouragement, i can take a breather now! looks like a band and photographer are my next step. i will keep you posted on my progress, and hope you do the same .I forgot to mention that i actually have my videographer booked already, so i am further ahead than i thought (he is a family friend, great work, he did my sisters wedding). thanks again.

We both have the same wedding date!
I still have to book my DJ ( i have an appt next tuesday) and florist. So far I have the church, hall, my dress and favors. But I like to get as much done as I can early while I still have some money before the big payments are due.

Melissa, everyone I know says the same thing. My mom goes around telling people that if Lisa had the dance she could get married tomorrow. Ok, so I am a little ahead of schedule.
