Hello all

I seriously just booked my reception exactly for weeks ago today and am now going nuts with all the planning that needs to get done. I am specifically interested contacting ***** for hair. How do i get in contact with her?

So far I have gotten the following done:
Dress-picked it up last week (ordered this pretty early on in the engagement yay)
Hotel blocks have been booked
STD's are out

I am working on booking a photographer and have met with a few;
Video-I met with Jose at Halo and think i am going to go with him; and
DJ-either latin brothers or elegancia, both are available thank goodness!

Any tips for a newbie? I hope i can get this done in such a short time!

You're ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned. FH and I went with a 6 month engagement, so with 5 months to go we'd just booked the RH. It's been smoooooooooth sailing since!

(With a tiny exception of me freaking out about the makeup thing shortly after joining this board... then I calmed down and haven't stressed at all.)

5 months is TONS of time to plan a wedding and be very happy, stress-free, and enjoy the process! (Especially if you're a 'go with your gut' person like FH and myself when it comes to decisions about the wedding.)

My greatest tip is DON'T STRESS!!!!!!!!!! It's a lot easier said than done. A lot of the wonderful women on here have very specific ideas of what must and must not be done for their own weddings (which is great) but remember that your wedding is YOUR OWN and not to feel like you need to please anyone but yourself in the process. What works for others may not be what's right for you. It's easy to get caught in the riptide here when you see so many people doing things you may not have ever thought about (and then may realize you don't need).

That being said, this board is a fantastic resource and you should use us to your heart's content! It's great having people to bounce things off of who care about your wedding (and their own) as much as you do.

Thanks. Yeah, i am trying to keep it simple so i figured the best way to do that was to keep the wedding party small- 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen and that's it. LOL

I have two BMs too! (My best friend and FSIL).

We ended up with 4 GM because one of my best friends is a guy, plus my bro, FH's father is his best man, and FH's best friend.

But guys are soooooooo much easier than girls!

The only bad thing about having 2 OOT gals as my wedding party is I'm not going to get to have a wedding shower. Between them not being here and my mom being sick, it's just not possible.
