Hi girls! I've been lurking for a month or so now, and I have to say everyone seems so sweet and this site is great! Hopefully someone here can help me out...

I'm having a company I found online custom-design the setting for my e-ring, but I will be using a stone from my grandmother's ring. My question is this:

Can anyone recommend a good/reputable jeweler to take the stone out, who will also measure and appraise it for me? The ring it's coming out of is pretty pricey, so trustworthiness is a must.

Where are you located? We used a good jeweler in Port Washington for my e-ring...

Hope this is helpfull....
I don't know where you live, so I don't know if this will be helpfull, but when I got my ring appraised I took it to Kay Cameron in Sayville. They had an appraiser there a few times a week.
I thought he did a great job.

No matter what jeweler you use, I'd do everything possible to ensure the stone never left my sight.
