Hello Everyone! and RH help :)

Hi everyone!

It's nice to meet you all! This is actually my first post (my fiance and I got engaged this past Saturday) so I'm sure I'll be here a lot between now and next November!

My fiance (oops! almost wrote boyfriend lol) and I are thinking of places in the fall- we don't want your typical catering hall- want more warmth/ charm. We are paying for the wedding ourselves so it's going to be between 125 and 150 people tops (probably closer to 125) and looking to pay 60-80 pp. Some of the places we're considering (on a Friday night) are:

Milleridge Cottage
Smithtown Landing
Timbre Point
Westbury Manor
Fox Hollow
Bayview House

I would have included the Rivera by fiance doesn't like the layout.

Anyway... are there any other RHs that kind of fit that style in that price range AND out of all of those RHs, are there any that DO NOT let you bring in your own centerpieces/ cake or use your own vendors? (my best friend is a highly established cake decorator and is doing our wedding cake free as a gift for us; also my aunt is a florist and will being doing our centerpieces; we know people in a wedding band who will most likely cut us a deal... any place that says we HAVE to use their vendors are out). Do any of those places penalize you for using your own vendors?

Thanks for all of your help and looking forward to getting to know all of you over the next year or so! :)

I would also look into Thatched Cottage in Centerport! Definitely has the warmth/charm you seem to be looking for!

I'm a Smithtown Landing bride and they def let you bring your own centerpieces, not 100% on the cake thing but it doesn't hurt to ask. They do give you a cake in your package though, you can choose from two different places. If they say yes, see if they will lower your cost some since you won't be using their cake place. It may be an insurance issue though so you may have issues with that at any location you look at unless your friend has insurance, it could be a liability if anyone got sick. As for paying for your vendors, every hall has you pay nothing for a house vendor (one they recommend) and half price for non-house vendors, unfortunately you have to pay for them to eat as well but they give you a break if you use their vendor that they recommend.

I looked into Timber Point and wanted to do a candy buffet but was told I had to use their vendor for it. I also asked for a special request for my nephew for a food item and was told no but it doesn't hurt to ask on your own.

Good Luck and Congratulations! If you have any questions let me know.

Getting married at Westbury Manor this Oct, they allow you to hire your own vendors, some of them (videographer, photographer, DJ) will need to provide liability insurance but that's standard for most places anyway.

This! Plus you can use whatever vendors you want and you provide your own centerpieces. Good luck venue hunting!
