Hello my sistas-need opinions

I have always been a very non-traditional girl, and like to do things my own way. I know my MOH is kinda strapped on cash, ya know, living in Manhattan, working 11 hours a day, the usual. LOL

I was really into the idea of having my shower at my house. I have a great backyard, which is very pretty and peaceful, with lots of flowers, a deck, a patio, and room for people. I wanted to do like an evening cocktail/hors doeuver kinda thing. Make it from like 5-9 or whenever, and then have the guys come for drinks and food. I mean, I know it wouldnt be a surprise, but I love the idea of being outside (weather permitting), and of course my Mom and sisters would help financially. So, whattaya think?

P.S. Plus, then I dont have to lugg all my presents home. LOL

As long as you really don't care about not being surprised, I think it's a great idea. It'll be a relaxing, yet fun environment and like you said, you won't have to lug presents home, which is always a good thing.

I think it's a great idea! More relaxed and enjoyable at home (IMO).

I say if that is what you want then you should do it! I like the idea of the guys coming later on for drinks! Sounds like you'll all have a great time!

Thats actually what I am doing for my shower, yes I know about it. I am having it in August in my parents backyard probably from 6-10 on either a friday or sat night. It will be a cocktail party and we are going to hire a bartender and the theme will be cosmo's since that is my favorite drink. I think it will be much more relaxed and people wont feel rushed(to open gifts or leave at the end). I think it is a great idea and you should go for it.

I think its a great idea. I know that my aunt (godmother) is having mine at her house same type of idea. Mine will not be a surprise either b/c I live in KY right now and have to come in for it. Plus, your not rushed like you may be at a restaurant.

Thanks, your a sweetheart! Back to you though....I do think that the idea sounds so nice, and FUN. I love outdoor parties, they always add something to it...Your gonna have a GREAT TIME!!!

I think it is great. My MOH and non of my bridesmaids can plan anything since they dont live here. I am planing everything with just some help on the side.
