Well, I have seen this posted many times and it is finally my turn: I AM OFFICIALLY ENGAGED! I have been a stalker on this site for about a year but I refused to register until I was official. HERE I AM!! I have learned so much from you ladies and I hope to contribute back now.

My sweet boyfriend, oops, fiance proposed to me this weekend in Boston on the nine year anniversary of the day we met.

I have no clue when or where yet but thanks to this site I know what vendors I want to check out asap.

The fact that we proposed on your 9 year anniversary of the day you first met is soooooo romantic!!!

Have fun, never take the planning to seriously, it's not worth driving yourself nuts, it should be fun, remember that! Also, take a break from the planning every now & then and enjoy each other, my hubby & I would take a weekend 'off' from planning our wedding and when it got to be to stressful and it gave us time to unwind and remember why we were engaged in the first place.

Congrats. I totally can relate. I was engaged Sept 13 (yes friday the 13th) and before I got engaged I spent at leas a year as well theknot.com, weddingchannel.com, and various other wedding sites as well as sitting in barnes and noble for hours looking at wedding books (so I knew exactly what book i wanted when i would be engaged)

then I got engaged and all the fun has begun. i can officially call vendors, wedding talk, and all the fun stuff. I am so excited about everything...i have definatly learned a lot from the boards.

I am thrilled to be a part of this site.

Licia-I am not actually set for 6/5/04. When I registered the computer wouldn't complete the process unless I selected a date so I made one up. Although, I would be delighted if I was able to get a Saturday in June. We are going to start our hall search after the Thanksgiving chaos subsides. (I work for a weekly publication and the shortened work week has made life crazy this week.)

I keep thinking about the night he proposed and I feel very depressed that it is over. I know that sounds silly because I have a lifeteime of nights with him to look forward to but it was such a special, magical night and I want to relive it!! Anyone else feel this way about their engagement day/night? I can only imagine how I am going to feel after the wedding is over!

yup, a whole year. Although, I did find this site on my own while I was playing pretend bride, I got addicted partly because my best friend (V&S03) is planning a wedding and I am the MOH. I guess you could say I caught wedding fever early on!
