HELP! 1 1/2 weeks and too much to do!!!!

How did you married girls do it and work???? I am off for the summer and I still can't seem to get everything done! I forgot to send the check to the band and now I have to get a certified check today and overnight it, I did the DIY programs for NINE hours yesterday and found a typo and have to re-do all the inside pages, I have to pick up the rings and have them engraved, I still have a TON of stuff to make, last night I was in bed just remembering a million things to do!

I am freaking out!!!! Here's a question- do I have to make OTT bags cause if so I may just jump off a cliff!

Christine,
Breathe, ok dont stress everything will be perfect. you dont have to do OOT bags if you dont want to. Its just something nice, If you dont have the time, dont do it. You can not have a panic attack less then 2 weeks before the wedding. Have a glass of wine or a stiff shot and then get into something. It will all come together.

Christine--YOU WILL SURVIVE and have fun!

and seeing that I was an OOT bride with 100% OOT guests I said HELL NO to OOT bags-they would have been too darn expensive and troublesome to heave up there. I applaud those that did them, but my guests were scattered around town, it was just too much to worry about on top of remembering to bring all the gear!

I feel the same way as you do.....I am getting so close and really spent the entire morning at work doing wedding stuff....Luckily its never too busy here...if it was I would have been in big trouble.

Thanks girls! I knew I could count on you! I forgot to mention the reason WHY I was freaking out. My car is in the shop and there is no way to get anywhere here in CA without it. But I just talked to my dad and he said to just rent one if I don't get it back by this afternoon. That just calmed me right down. I don't the money but darn it, I need my car to get all this done!

deep breath

deep breath

If you can, try to prioritize and separate what needs to be done from what would be nice to have. Try to find people to help you. After that, simply drop some of the things that would be nice to have. Drop them. Really.

- No OOT bags
- Get your rings engraved a few months from now
- Let the typo stay where it is or find someone else to fix them for you

These things don't matter as much as your sanity in the days leading up to the wedding.

Oh Christine!

This is part of the fun!! - don't worry.

Make lists, and begin to say 'Fu*k it!' when something threatens to make you insane. There are things you can do without...

You can do this (you are going to be a BEAUTIFUL Bride with an amazing husband with or without OOT Bags!)

Rye

ps - I bought everything for the OOT bags, then had my sister and her boyfriend assemble them 2 days before the were to be delivered - they had fun doing it, and I didn't have to do something that would have sent me over the edge. Can you give someone the task?

How did the married ladies do it? A lot of us lost our minds in the process girlie, it's not easy!

Some great advise was given:

BREATHE

Prioritize

Let go of things that will ultimately not really matter...control what you can, screw everything else!

If you can - delegate!

You WILL make it - it WILL be beautiful.

BREATHE!

I was freaking last week too, and I see we have the same date, so I totally understand how you feel! As everyone else says, breathe. And while it might sound counterproductive, get away from the wedding stuff, for the rest of the day if you can, or for a couple hours. Do something fun, even if it's only for an hour.

I'm still at work, so that hasn't changed, but I had to swallow my pride and ask some people to help me. I've shared that my family has not been very helpful, and they still are not. However, FHs mother and sister are putting together the favors, I have a friend proofreading my program, and I decided to drop some things, like extra decorations for the ceremony and reception. I'll use what I have, and I'm sure the rooms will still look lovely.

As for the OOT bags, I'm leaving that for the end. If I have time next week, I'll do them. If not, I'm ditching it. It's a lovely idea, but honestly, I've never received one at any of the weddings I went to, and if time is tight, this is something you can definitely drop. What you can do (if you have time for this), is write a short note thanking everyone for coming and enclose any last minute directions or schedule info. I'm considering doing this instead. I already have all purpose note cards, and I think people would appreciate this small gesture.

Relax, and remember you can't do everything that's in the magazines.

Thanks my date twin! Very valuable advice from someone who REALLY knows how I am feeling today.

Christine, I am totally with you! Ifyou want to jump off a cliff I will go with you!!

Seriously, breathe and try to relax. I am telling myself to do the same. It'll all get done and what isn't, wasn't meant to be. My new phrase is 'I don't effin' care' and that is how I am approaching the rest of this planning phase.
