HELP!!!

HELP!!!

i only have $10,000 to spend on my wedding for 65-75 people. my parents, aunt and fh parents are helping so in total i'll have about $15,000. i'm worried i'm not going to be able to do it. everything is so expensive. is this enough money to have a NICE wedding? i know i'll be spending about 4,000- 5,000 on the hall and then i only have 5,000 for d.j, video,photo, my shoes, hair, make-up etc...

my parents are paying for limo, down payment on the hall, favors, cake

fh parents paying for dress, rehersal dinner

my aunt flowers

so everything else i have to pay for...

I think its doable.

You have plenty of time to shop around for the right deals and to save a little extra if you want.

What about trying an all inclusive place like Holbrook Country Club or Brentwood Country Club. I also think the Middle Island Country Club, Huntington Town House, Medeterianian Manor all have prices starting at $40 per person.

Edited to add: Also you could check out places like DUET for photo and video, and also wedding centers have packages for everything.

i looked at a couple all inclusive places but they all want 100 people. i'm getting really nervous because i just dont see how i can do this with everyone charging so much.

sure it's possible!

my take on this would be (and what i am in fact doing):

1. invest in the hall and music
2. save on everything else (invitations, flowers, dress, photos)
3. cut out the favors, limo, professional-makeup
4. make things (centerpieces, decorations)

trust me, you can have an elegant affair and not go crazy with all the little things. they do add up and 9 times out of 10 wind up in the garbage!

A girl (Can't remember her screen name) here did her wedding for 10K. I believe her reception was at Sunset Harbor.

Yes, its completely do able.
NSGraham's budget wedding page is very helpful. She has suggestions for photo & video.That's probably you're biggest expense after the hall since dress & flowers are taken care of.

Do you know anyone who can do hair adn/or make-up for you for free or cheap ( like a relative or friend)

Also, you can try & borrow jewelery form a relative or firiend &maybe even a headpiece if you know any recent brides. And people here swear by tri- County for inexpensive veils.

There is a thread somewhere where people listed how much they were quoted at different halls. I will try & find it for you.

And yes the more you can get included , the better.

Cake & centerpeices & place cards are included with mine, although if I can afford it I'm changing the centerpeices & place cards, if I can't at least I know they are taken care of.

very doable...you might want to find a place that has a vendor..i heard brentwood country club..pay 1 price and everything is done....

you should do some stuff DIY so you can invest that in photo and what not.

I think it was 2003oct10 did her wedding for that and it was gorgeous. Defintely save on the things mentioned on the other post. If you don't care too much for real flowers you can even opt for rake ones. I have a friend who is planning her wedding on that very budget. I directed her to bridesbouquet.com and bridesave.com. And packages are a GREAT way to go.

Definately do-able...I have a similar budget. I've decided to leave out some thing...no limos or video. But...I made sure that we didn't skimp on photos. You don't have to have every add-on at the CH. I didn't do any...there will be plenty with what is given. Then...they will get a 4 course meal. Look for reception sites that include things like CP's and the cake...my place included the cake. Definitely make things....you can do it. Please FM me if you need any help.

totally doable! My budget is not much more than that. So far, everything we booked has been in our budget and very elegant. I don't feel like I am settling for anything. FM me for more info !!!
