help?

help?

~ do the guys ever get that into the planning process? Todd wants to be able to help, but sometimes it just seems like he's not always into it... is this normal?

~i think i'm doing well, but can help but feel that im forgetting something.
have: ceremony/recep. site, flowers, dress, veil, tiara, limos.
have ideas for: invites, favors, officiant, bridal party dresses, dj, honeymoon. video/photo (possibly)
have no idea: rings, tuxes

~some of my married friends keep saying to enjoy this whole process and to enjoy the 'quiet' times, b/c it'll all fly by. It's nice to hear, I just feel confused sometimes, so if anyone has advised about this stuff, please help.

Re: help?

Congrats to the both of you.

What type of person is Todd. Is this striclty your day or his? To me it's our day and you will find me on the site. Anything I read on here that I think will help us make a decision on vendors, ideas, or themes I simply print out. If he doesn't like something I don't know if he does or doesn't let you know and keep at it till you both can agree on it. I didn't want to get married at the Watermill and didn't like the decor. If I didn't feel comfortable there then I really don't think I would have changed on the day of my wedding. Same think with a photographer we visited. She loved him but to me I wasn't comfortable. But definitely enjoy the time you spend together in the process. We only have sundays together because I work on SAT.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

Where did you get your avatar? The one I'm using I took it in Alaska on a cruise we went on.

FH and I have agreed that I will do most of the planning. Mainly because I think I am a control freak anyway
However, we did go together to look at tuxedos and pick the style. He even tried them on.

When I need his opinion or to be there I know he will come (by hook or crook) but for the most part I am very happy to do this with my bridal party and family. I hope you realize you are not alone in planning the big day and that's why we are addicted to these chat rooms...to support all brides.

One more thing. If you did not get a wedding planner as a gift yet, go out and buy one. I have the Martha Stewart Keepsake wedding planner and it is awesome. It covers everything and more. I carry it everytime I meet with a vendor and is great to keep all the important paperwork and questions to ask. Good luck

Split personalities?? lol

You guys are funny.. but to answer her question.

I'm pretty good at planning but sometimes I do wish he's be more into it.. I guess it's just not a guy thing, I think for him, it's still too far away, so i think he will get more into it the closer we get, I think right now he is focused on finding us a place to live.. so I try to go ahead with my part of the planning and consult with him on the more important things

ETA: Oh jeeze I just realized it really is two different people..I just saw the chat avatar and thought it was you, thomas and your FW... sorry about that.. .

Re: help?

Vinny has surprisingly been very involved and into all the wedding planning. I wasn't really expecting it but he enjoys going to all of the places and being involved in decisions. He even called me one day to tell me about a bridal show he heard about! :)

I'm glad that he is taking such an interest because it is both of our day...

Re: help?

thanx everyone. todd does get involved, we want this to be our day, he feels this is something ive had in my mind since i was young, he'd rather i make most of the decisions, n if im not sure about something let him know some of the ideas n he'll help with the decision. i guess i don't always realize how much he does help.

i got a couple wedding planners, and made my own, based on what i knew we needed... i got the lifetime wedding planner and the ultimate wedding planner(16 mo planning calendar... Very helpfull)

we've been to 2 expo's so far, i didn't realize how much they would help
