Re: HELP!!!

check the Aruba website. That will tell you for sure. But you should get one anyway. You can get it within 2 weeks.

Re: HELP!!!

try the state department website. I have to go to a work thing now, otherwise, I'd look it up for you.
You can get one in a hurry if you need it, you have to pay more & go to certain passport offices.

Re: HELP!!!

You do not need a passport but you must have an original copy of your birth certificate. You can get that from your town hall in one day. Have fun in Aruba.

Re: HELP!!!

Actually, if you rea further on that website, here is what it says...

DEFINITION OF A VALID TRAVEL DOCUMENT

A. Visitors entering Aruba from the United States of America must have in their possession ONE of the following documents.
1. A valid USA passport;
2. For USA citizens born in the USA:
birth certificate, original or government certified (not photocopy) and photo identification

So that, to me, reads you must have a passport, birth certificate, or drivers license.

Re: HELP!!!

you don't need a passport for aruba but your original birth certificate or copy with raised seal and state drivers lic is good enough....the passport makes it easier getting through immigration coming and going....by the way you can get an expedited (same day passport) i did it back in May when mine was expiring you just need a copy of your airline tikets or itin it took a total of 2 hours very easy total cost around $150

Re: HELP!!!

maybe I should just get the passport to be safe and I will always have it for future trips.
THanks Charlotte!

I agree! With all the new security concerns, you are better off having one than not.

Re: HELP!!!

I would get a passport because coming back to the US they prefer it now - but as a back up if it does not come have your original copy of your birth certificate

Re: HELP!!!

take it from me - bring it anyway!!!!!
we missed our flight for our honeymoon becuase we had no travel identification with us....and we were stuck in the airport for 14 hours.....and missed a whole day of the honeymoon!!!
all we needed was a birth certificate and a driver's license.....
BRING IT JUST IN CASE!!!!!!
I cannot stress that enough!!!!!

And if you need more persuading....i'll send you the picture we took of the dirty corner we 'slept' in in the San Juan Airport for the first night of our honeymoon

Re: HELP!!!

Thank you ALL sooooo much! I got in contact with the post office that does this and I will pay to get it done faster. It's just sooo annoying to add ANOTHER job to my list. But...palebride....I guess IT'S worth it! Sorry you went through that. They are there today from 10-2. So, I better get going!!!!
