HELP

I just got a call from the cousin of my good friend (the bride). The cousin lives in Connecticut and is having trouble finding a bridal shower location. The wedding is August 13

She said she checked out a few hotels - Marriott in Manhattan wants $600 - to hold only 17 women for the shower. She does not need a caterer and told me she already has the menu planned out (she cooks really well).

She called me to help and I have no ideas. I have never planned a shower before or even helped plan a shower This is my first friend to get marreid so we have been helping each other with planning.

Are there any halls that won't break the bank and will let us bring in our own food What about restaruants with private halls (or do you have to use their food)?

TIA

Re: HELP

if she is not worried about food, can anyone host it in their home? Are you restricted to manhattan or can she come out east.

The vineyards out east let you bring food...although I never seen it done, it would be beautiful!!

That was what I was thinking. Alot of restaurants wont let you bring in outside food for health code reasons. So it may be hard to find one that will allow that.....
A shower at someone's home can be so nice, especially now that it is summer (if you can find someone who would host and has a nice backyard setup!)

Re: HELP

How about a local Kinghts of Colombus? Or if anyone you know lives in a condo/coop, they may have a community room you can rent. A bbq in a local park?
