HELP!!!

Fh and I are going over our wedding list and I am addressing the envelopes Mr & Mrs. (2 people ONLY) and from what I know his family will rsvp like 4 people and only give like $100.00

Is there anything I can put in the invitation that does not sound rude stating no children or am I just going to get screwed???? Please help. I am really getting upset over this.

Re: HELP!!!

If the invite does not state 'and family' you are not inviting the kids. If they send back the RSVP for 4 people, someone needs to call and say that the reception is adults only...

However, are you doing this because you don't want kids, or because you think they aren't going to give you enough $ for 4 people? If its the latter, you should remember a people come to a wedding to celebrate your marriage. Its not a fund raising event.

Re: HELP!!!

You'd think only addressing the invitation to 2 people would be an indication that the kids aren't invited, but you never know with some people... I don't know if there is anything you can put on the invitation to further clarify that you're only inviting the people to whom the invitation is addressed. However, if people add more names on the response card, you can call and explain that due to space and financial constraints, you only have room for them, not the additional guests.

OMG....you are addressing your envelopes already?!! I have not even looked at invitations yet and my wedding is not that much later than yours! I guess I'd better get on the ball!!!

Oh and my friend had a good idea.....She wrote in the number of seats that would be reserved on the actual RSVP card, because she had the same fear.

Re: HELP!!!

I put this post up because I don't want kids at the reception (only my nephews and his nieces and nephews) and his family has a tendency to add them anyway..It's very frustrating.

I am also nervous because I can't have more then 160 in the room or it will be tight

Re: HELP!!!

what i did with my invitations is rewrote what the response card says....mine says something along the lines of '_____(write in the number u want to attend) seats of honour are being reserved for_______(the guest(s) name(s))' And then I just put the usual under it with accept or regret and the RSVP date.....i was going through the same probelm and this is the only way i could think of so the whole family didn't show up....it might help avoid confusion with who is actually invited
